Cables/Connecting
FDA-recognised cables impervious to oils, chemicals and fuels
Aerco is now stocking Alpha Wire’s Xtra-Guard 5 cable range. Alpha Wire claim that Xtra-Guard 5 cables offer a market-leading specification, making them suitable for a wide variety of highly-demanding applications, including Class 1 cleanroom environments, medical grade applications (when sterilised), chemical processing and food and beverage wash-down applications.
Asset management solutions on show at Data Centre World
During Data Centre World at London's ExCel exhibition centre, HARTING will showcase its ranges of asset management and connectivity solutions for data centres on Stand N73. A major new development is the Ha-VIS RFID LOCFIELD antenna, which provides real-time monitoring of asset movements within the data centre.
Vertical poke-home connector released
AVX has released the first vertical connector capable of successfully bridging the gap between inexpensive, (but wildly inconsistent hand soldering processes) and expensive, but exceedingly reliable two-piece connector systems in high volume, 18AWG applications with perpendicular terminations and limited board space, including: power supplies, LED drivers, and industrial and motor controls.
Internal cabled interconnects reach speeds of up to 25Gbps
TE Connectivity (TE) has launched Sliver internal cabled interconnects which, the company claims, provide one of the most flexible solutions in the market for making internal Input/Output (I/O) connections on the board.
Crabtree acts on Instinct with wiring accessories launch
Crabtree has launched a major product range called Instinct, containing over 300 products including sockets, fuse connection units and data outlets. Named for its intuitive design and clever new features, the Instinct range includes full-contact cable clamps which improve cable retention and reduce deformation, and integrated LED indicators built into the rocker switch, which retains plate strength and improves aesthetics.
Connectors simplify panel building and system integration
A 1U 19” rack mounting panel has been introduced by Cliff Electronics, to aid system builders with integration of the range of XLR-Format FeedThrough connectors. The panel has a black anodised finish and will accept 16 FeedThrough connectors and features a labelling strip for end users to identify the function or individual connectors. The panel is also fitted with a strain-relief bar for tying internal cables to, relieving pressure on...
Compact rotation model safely guides energy, data and media
A compact rotation module (CRM) has been developed by igus, which revolves around its own axis, even in confined spaces. As with all rotary energy chain systems from igus, the CRM can be used to guide different types of media – power, signals, data, fibre optic, pneumatic or fluids – in parallel without interruption.
Glow-Wire compliant connectors deliver high power efficiency
A range of Glow-Wire compliant RAST 2.5 Wire-to-Wire Headers has been introduced by Molex. These connectors deliver power and cost efficiency through an interface that can be terminated and cross-mated with any existing RAST infrastructure. Available in panel mount and flying header versions, the connectors are suitable for power and signal applications carrying up to 4.0A (32V).
Mini FASTON receptacle for space constrained applications
TE Connectivity has introduced its low insertion force 250 series miniature FASTON receptacle terminal. This straight quick connect crimp receptacle is about 23% shorter than full size 250 series FASTON receptacles, permitting its use in applications such as power tools and small appliances, where there is very limited space for electrical connections.
K-type thermocouple connector features design flexibility
TE Connectivity unveiled a K-type thermocouple connector at SPS IPC Drives. It incorporated a special spring terminal concept that ensures superior connectivity compared with the traditional screw type termination.
