The S.E.A. C-V2X Open Loop Test System from NI leverages 5G wireless cellular technology to provide high bandwidth and low latency communication for Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) communications.

A solution to test the computing platform for autonomous vehicles (AVs) has been released by NI. AVs are complex systems to test. At the heart of the AV is a powerful computing platform that analyses the environment around the vehicle and determines the appropriate action to help ensure the safety of the car and its surroundings.

It features a fully 3GPP Release 15 non-standalone (NSA) compliant system capable of emulating the full operation of end-user devices or user equipment (UE). With the 5G commercial rollout this year, engineers must validate the design and functionality of 5G NR infrastructure equipment before productisation and release.

A new release of LabVIEW NXG has been unveiled by NI. It simplifies time-consuming tasks in automated test and automated measurement applications, from setting up and configuring systems to developing test and measurement code and creating web-ready applications. Two series of millimeter wave (mmWave) radio heads for the mmWave Transceiver System have been released by NI. The radio heads, which cover spectrum from 24.5GHz to 33.4GHz and 37GHz to 43.5GHz, are targeted at wireless researchers prototyping 5G New Radio (NR) systems.

NI and Spirent Communications have announced a collaboration to develop test systems for 5G New Radio (NR) devices. The collaboration will allow 5G chipset and device manufacturers to validate the performance of 5G NR smartphones and IoT devices in the lab without requiring access to expensive and complex 5G base stations (gNodeBs). 

3D Glass Solutions (3DGS) has released a glass-based RF integrated passive devices (IPDs) process design kit (PDK) specifically for NI AWR Design Environment customers.  Developed in collaboration with NI AWR software experts, the 3DGS IPD PDK enables the design of high-performance components for internet of things (IoT), LTE, 5G and satellite communications. 

InstrumentStudio software for NI PXI modular instruments made its bow at NIWeek in Austin. InstrumentStudio improves the live, interactive use model for modular instruments and makes debugging while running tests more intuitive. Engineers in the aerospace, automotive and semiconductor industries benefit from a more effective workflow for test system development.

More and more companies need newly-employed graduates to be “game-ready” to take up their tasks as they enter industry. That’s a challenge that National Instruments is looking to meet with the launch of ELVIS III, or to put it slightly more prosaically the Educational Laboratory Virtual Instrumentation Suite III.
