From early May Electrocomponents will become RS Group. The change brings the Group’s distribution businesses under its primary global customer brand.

In recent years the company has implemented a complete marketing outreach programme whilst making thousands of enhancements to its websites, many of them a result of customer feedback and behaviour.

Debbie Lentz has been appointed as President Global Supply Chain at Electrocomponents. She joins the company as a member of the Executive Management Team, reporting directly to CEO Lindsley Ruth. She is responsible for leading the further development of the Group’s supply chain capability.

Electrocomponents CEO, Lindsley Ruth, has been named ‘Electronics Company CEO of the Year 2017 – UK’ at the 2017 Global CEO Excellence Awards. The company was also awarded ‘Best Electronics Distribution Company – UK’ at the awards organised by CEO Monthly magazine. The plaudit follows Ruth’s transformation of Electrocomponents business and financial performance since joining in 2015.  

Electrocomponents has a new Chief Executive. The distribution group has named former Future Electronics Executive Vice President Lindsley Ruth to replace Ian Mason who announced he was stepping down in November last year. Ruth who has worked for Future since 2002, has been a key member of the core leadership team which has transformed the organisation’s performance and expanded its global reach over recent years.

Electrocomponents has announced today that it has been shortlisted for The eCommerce Strategy of the Year category at this year’s National Business Awards in partnership with Orange. Going up against the likes of Groupon, Screwfix and Wiggle, Electrocomponents will battle it out for the prestigious award, with the winner being revealed at the National Business Awards gala dinner held on 13 November in London.

Electrocomponents has today issued its interim management statement for the year ending 31 March 2013 which covers the first quarter ended 30 June 2012. There have been no significant changes to the Group’s strong financial position during the period.
