Thermal imaging range joins RS roster
RS Components has strengthened its thermal imaging instruments offering by signing a distribution agreement with FLIR Systems. The instruments are suitable for testing, troubleshooting and building-maintenance applications. RS is selling the FLIR E4/E5/E6/E8 and FLIR E40/E50/E60 thermal imaging cameras, as well as the newly launched FLIR TG165 imaging IR thermometer and FLIR C2, the world's first full-featured, pocket-sized thermal camera.
Compact monochromator speeds sampling throughput
Shimadzu’s SPG-120-REV series monochromator system was developed in response to strong demands from researchers and manufacturers for compact, high speed, accurate, and highly reproducible grating-based spectroscopy systems. It achieves wavelength changes ten times faster than conventional models by directly driving a grating with a stepping motor, reducing measurement times by 50%.
Optical fibre identifiers raise the TONE
Fujikura Europe has released new and advanced optical fibre identifiers, the FID-30R and FID-31R, which feature the world’s highest TONE signal-detection sensitivity. The FID-30R includes an optical power meter and succeeds the FID-25R while the FID-31R, the updated standard model, replaces the FID-26R.
ECM system test aided by software upgrade
Keysight Technologies’ N7660B Signal Studio for multi-emitter scenario generation software provides aerospace/defence engineers with performance-optimised, Keysight-validated multi-emitter signals that they can download to one or more Keysight N5193A UXG agile signal generators for effective testing of electronic countermeasures (ECM) systems.
4-slot, 8-slot controllers come in rugged form factor
NI’s new CompactDAQ 8-slot controller expands the CompactDAQ controller offering to meet high-channel count applications in rugged environments. By integrating the processor, signal conditioning and I/O into a single CompactDAQ system, engineers can reduce overall system cost and complexity while increasing measurement accuracy.
Arbitrary/function generator enables T&M entree for colleges
An entry level Arbitrary/Function Generator can support a wide range of use cases and course subjects. The AFG1022 from Tektronix integrates seamlessly with the new TekSmartLab wireless lab instrument management solution. The instrument enables colleges and universities to equip labs with modern test instrumentation to better prepare students for the real world.
Test system meets new immunity testing standards
Teseq has developed a test system that meets the new requirements for immunity testing to low frequency disturbances in the frequency range of 15 Hz to 150 kHz. The NSG 4060 complies with current testing standards including EN 61326-3-1, IEC 61850-3, IEC 60255-22-7, IEC 60533/IEC 60945, IEC 61000-4-16 and IEC 61000-4-19.
LDS V8 combo shaker supports low carbon mobility research
Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG) at the University of Warwick has invested in an LDS V8 combo shaker, to support its government-funded research into low carbon mobility. The V8 system enables WMG’s team to carry out vibration tests on large lithium-ion battery systems (up to 600kg in weight), as they go through the cycling process (charge/discharge).
Microlease, Keysight Agree UK Distribution Pact
Microlease is emerging as a major player in the test and measurement distribution sector. The Harrow-based company has signed a distribution agreement with Keysight Technologies covering the UK. The agreement encompasses the full range of Keysight test and measurement instrumentation from hand-held imaging cameras to high-end Infiniium oscilloscopes.
Software optimises automated testing using network analysers
The new R&S ZNrun software from Rohde & Schwarz assists users in configuring measurements specifically for multiport DUTs using Rohde & Schwarz vector network analysers (VNA). The user selects the VNA and any additional test equipment and sets the parameters to be measured on the DUT.
