Vector network analyser moves up to 20GHz frequency
The frequency range of the Rohde & Schwarz R&S ZNBT multiport vector network analyser has been extended up to 20 GHz. The analyser, with a starting frequency of 100 kHz and up to 16 integrated test ports, offers fast sweep times and excellent RF performance. It is a true multiport vector network analyser and can drive all ports in parallel without the need for internal switching.
Tool box offers rental route to automotive test
The complexity of automobile electronics systems continues to increase. Modern vehicles demand a growing number of electronic control units (ECUs) and sensors, plus higher data rate serial buses and a broadening range of wireless connectivity options. Through this technology, road users can benefit from superior navigation, telematics, protection, climate control and infotainment functions, resulting in improved comfort, greater access to media c...

Keysight’s One-Stop Calibration Services ensure ongoing accuracy and availability of test assets, as well as electrical, physical, dimensional and optical equipment from virtually any manufacturer.
User friendly: Fibre optic cable tester eases technicians tasks
The OTDR II, a Tier 2 fibre optic cable tester from Ideal Networks that addresses the need for user-friendly and accurate fibre troubleshooting for network installation technicians. The OTDR II (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) excels in fault finding on fibre cabling with excellent specifications and performance levels on both single-mode and multimode fibre networks.
Analyser measures and models device noise across wafers
The newest release of its high-performance, Advanced Low-Frequency Noise Analyser, which is designed to make fast, accurate and repeatable low-frequency noise measurements has been released by Keysight Technologies. The release features a new user interface and tight integration with Keysight’s WaferPro Express software — a platform that performs automated wafer-level measurements of semiconductor devices.
Safety central in launch of new MFT range
With the fast changing needs of today’s electrical contractors, a multi-functional tester (MFT) that provides all of the features needed for the safe, convenient and efficient testing of low voltage electrical installations has been launched by Megger.
Latest flame retardants are tested for toxicity
Empa researchers developed three innovative flame retardants and tested them for toxicity; not all of them passed the test. Researchers are constantly striving to develop better and safer flame retardants. For example, Sabyasachi Gaan's team at Empa's Advanced Fibers Laboratory, synthesised three new agents that have the same or improved flame retardancy as existing products.
Technique simulates the problem of wireless outage capacity
As the number of mobile devices grows along with demand for faster connections and larger data volumes, wireless networks can easily exceed capacity, resulting in severe network slowdowns and outages. While engineers have developed various sophisticated signal processing methods to accommodate sudden changes in network loads, it has been challenging to evaluate and compare the performance of different approaches in realistic network environments.
