Surface mounting battery contacts minimise height and profile
Memory Protection Devices has expanded its selection of available AAAA battery contacts. Newly released is AAAA battery contact part number BK-6223-TR. It is designed to be surface mounted on a PCB and to meet the application demands of portable equipment. It is a phosphor bronze contact, is ultra-light weight and features improved strength characteristics.
High linearity demodulator supports 1GHz bandwidth
Analog Devices has announced the LTC5594, a wideband, high linearity true Zero-IF (ZIF) demodulator with 1GHz instantaneous I and Q 1dB bandwidth. The demodulator is capable of 37dB image rejection typical. Using the on-chip serial port, the device allows correction of the I and Q phase and amplitude imbalance, hence can be tuned to achieve an image rejection of better than 60dB.
Ultra low noise DC/DC converter in compact SIP-8 package
TRACO POWER has announced the release of its TVN 3 family of 3W low noise DC/DC converters in a compact SIP-8 package measuring only 0.86x0.38x0.44”. Maximum output ripple of 15mV pk-pk or down to 10mV pk-pk with a 10µF capacitor make these suitable for pro-audio, test equipment and applications that are noise sensitive.
Industry is wasting potential 44TWh each year according to whitepaper
A whitepaper proposing that a lack of efficiency in industrial power drive systems means there is currently 44TWh/a of energy savings that could be made across the sector has been released by REO UK. The company has demonstrated the results in its own laboratory tests outlined in the paper and suggests that better harmonic mitigation and a change in the rules is required.
A materials-based approach to reinventing the inductor
Inductors are everywhere, from your cell phone and laptop to your radio, television, and car. A basic building block of today’s technology, they are also a crucial component for realising the potential of the IoT, which promises to connect people to some 50 billion objects, by 2020, with an projected economic impact ranging from $2.7-$6.2 trillion annually by 2025.
Power signal system features up to 60A blade profile
Samtec has released a higher density signal count and new AC power option available with the EXTreme Ten60Power system. TSamtec's EXTreme Ten60Power header and socket system (ET60T/ET60S Series) is available in both power/signal combinations and power only for increased design flexibility.
Electronic load is CAT II rated
The LDH400P Electronic Load from Aim TTi is in stock at Farnell element14.The LD series features electronic loads which are suitable for testing and characterising a wide variety of DC power sources. They can be used to investigate the behaviour of many different types of power source, such as: PFCs, batteries, solar cells and electronic power supply units.
Mini-ITX embedded computer offers increased bandwidth
UK manufacturer of high-performance industrial computers, Amplicon, has announced plans to continue its commitment to innovative, new product development in 2018 and will be introducing brand new Industrial computers every month. The first release is the Amplicon Impact-R 156/157, a powerful Mini-ITX embedded computer, designed to outperform in industrial applications that require demanding expansion functionality.
Power adapter provides output power limit of less than 15W
Power supply manufacturer, GlobTek, has announced that its GTM96180 power adapter product line, available in Wall plug-in and desktop configurations with grounded and ungrounded input options can be configured for a guaranteed output power limit of less than 15W. Output voltages between 5-48V are available, with a full load output power rating of 11W.
Top ten semiconductor R&D spenders increase expenditures to $35.9bn
Research has shown that the ten largest semiconductor R&D spenders increased their collective expenditures to $35.9bn in 2017, an increase of six percent compared to $34.0bn in 2016. Intel continued to far exceed all other semiconductor companies with R&D spending that reached $13.1bn.
