Low power AC/DC modules designed for smart home applications
Manufacturer and distributor, Luso Electronics has announced the release of the L4A series of low power AC/DC modules. These compact universal input modules (90-264VAC) are available in four families, ranging from 1-10W.
Redefining Point of Load regulation for demanding XPUs
With previous unattainable performance levels for high current applications Vicor technology has developed Artificial Intelligence (AI) processors and 48V autonomous driving systems. High performance computers and large scale datacenters will be taken to the next level by Vicor modules delivering hundreds of amps of steady power.
Fixed frequency PWM controller delivers circuit protection
Today’s power supplies demand components which provide suitable performance, efficiency, robustness, and ease of design. To meet this need, Infineon Technologies has announced the fixed frequency 700/800V CoolSET 5th generation. This solution combines a PWM controller IC with the latest 700 and 800V CoolMOS P7 MOSFETs in a single package. The single platform supports isolated and non-isolated flyback topologies.
Single-pin high voltage connectors for up to 100kV DC
GES High Voltage a company in high voltage connectivity, has significantly improved and optimised its Series 100 single-pin high voltage connectors designed for operating voltages up to 100kV DC. The plugs and receptacles are fully compatible with the previous version, the redesign is available since February 2018.
Voltage regulator provides big performance in tiny footprint
The STLQ020 low-dropout (LDO) voltage regulator from STMicroelectronics relieves the familiar trade-offs between quiescent current, output power, dynamic response, and package size, to give designers extra freedom.
Low-power MCUs extend battery life for wearables
Designers of IoT sensors, environmental sensors, smartwatches, medical/preventive health wearables, and other size-constrained devices can now increase battery life and functionality using the ultra-low power MAX32660 and MAX32652 microcontrollers from Maxim Integrated Products. These microcontrollers (MCUs) are based on the Arm Cortex-M4 with FPU processor and provide designers the means to develop advanced applications under restrictive power c...
USB PD chipset adopted by Hosiden for smartphone adapters
Dialog Semiconductor plc has announced it is shipping in high volume its USB PD chipset to Hosiden Corporation, a Japanese manufacturer of charger adapters for mobile devices. The chipset is used in Hosiden’s CBC2153 model USB PD-compliant adapter, designed for one of Japan’s leading mobile TELCO providers. With Dialog’s market share of more than 60% in AC/DC rapid charging integrated circuits for smartphone adapters.
Eliminating EMI effects in high performance DAQ systems
This video from Texas Instruments covers the TIDA-01054, a multi-rail power reference design for eliminating EMI effects in high performance DAQ systems.
Energy efficiency in direct current systems
The introduction of a host of activities for energy efficiency improvement has come from the increase of the trend towards efficient utilisation of limited resources. For DC systems especially, monitoring their performance and error-free operation is fundamental. Photovoltaic and battery storage systems are particularly relevant here and the focus is also evidently on the power supplies of emerging electromobility solutions.
New power models expanded to 8kW in 1U
Magna-Power Electronics has increased the power capability of its popular 1U (1.75” high) SL Series to 8 kW with the addition of 17 new models. The new 8kW models further extend the SL Series lead for the most programmable power in 1U within its product class. The SL Series now spans 99 models from 1.5-8kW, from 5Vdc to 1000Vdc, and from 1.5Adc to 250Adc.
