Eaton’s New Compact RCBOs Leave Room to Manoeuvre
Easier and faster wiring in consumer units and distribution boards is the key benefit offered by the new range of compact RCBOs from Eaton’s Electrical Sector. The new devices are 20mm shorter than their standard counterparts, so they make much more room available for wiring, eliminating the need for users to struggle to make multiple connections in a confined space.
Fairchild Semiconductor’s Audio Jack Detection Switch Meets OMTP and CTIA Standards with a Single Device
Designers are confronted with the challenge of two audio configuration jack standards – the Open Mobile Terminal Platform (OMTP) L/R/M/G and Cellular Telephone Industries Association (CTIA) L/R/G/M jack pin map standards for 3.5mm audio jacks. With different jack pin maps, designers either choose to support one standard over the other, or rely on a more complex design with more components to support both standards.
New dual winding inductors for high current applications
TT electronics BI Technologies has extended its HM78D family of dual winding inductors with the introduction of a new model series offering higher inductance, better efficiency and superior current handling in a rugged, low cost part. The new HM78D-1210 series comes in 12.5mm footprint shielded SMD packages and, in common with other HM78D models, can be configured as inductors, common mode chokes or DC/DC converters.
TE Circuit Protection’s New RTP Devices Offer Reflowable Thermal Protection in Low-Temperature AC and DC Designs
TE Circuit Protection today announces AC-rated and DC-rated Reflowable Thermal Protection (RTP) devices featuring a temperature open (Topen) value of 140°C. Innovative RTP devices can be quickly and easily installed using industry-standard pick-and-place and Pb-free reflow equipment, enabling manufacturers to realize significant savings by moving from hand assembly to surface-mount device (SMD) processes.
TE Circuit Protection introduces industry’s lowest capacitance Silicon ESD Devices for high-data-rate applications
TE Circuit Protection announces a family of eight new single- and multi-channel silicon ESD (SESD) protection devices offering the lowest capacitance (bi-directional: 0.10pF typical; uni-directional: 0.20pF typical), highest ESD protection (20kV air and contact discharge) and smallest size (multi-channel: smallest flow-through form-factor and 0.31mm height) packages available on the market.
New microswitch from Cyntech delivers greater precision in pressure and temperature switches
Cyntech Components announces a new microswitch, the MP500, which has only one-tenth of the hysteresis and one-third the dead zone passing of comparable V4 microswitches. These improvements enable much greater precision in the operation of pressure and temperature switches used in process applications.
Ruggedized Cisco Catalyst 4948E Data Center-Class Ethernet Switch for Military / Aerospace Introduced by Parvus
Eurotech subsidiary Parvus Corporation announces the DuraNET 4948, a ruggedized version of Cisco Systems' high performance Catalyst 4948E data center switch with forty-eight (48) downlink and four (4) uplink ports in a hardened 2U chassis qualified to meet MIL-STD-810G environmental and MIL-STD-461F EMI requirements.
C&K Develops Sealed, SMD, Power Pushbutton Switch, Eliminating Need for Secondary Processing
C&K Components has developed a power pushbutton switch that features redundant double break contacts. Designated the PWR Series, the RoHS-compliant and IP65-sealed switches provide excellent tactile feel with quiet detent. Designed with a SMD package, the PWR Series allows single step processing of SMD boards. The momentary, single-pole single throw (SPST) PWR Series switches feature an extended operating life of 100,000 mechanical cycles.
Murata introduces world's first and smallest 01005-size Hi-Q MLCC
Murata today announced the GJM02 series of monolithic ceramic chip capacitors (MLCC) specifically designed for use in high frequency module applications such as for coupling in power amplifiers of cellular phone handsets. Believed to be the world’s first 01005 size (EIA) Hi Q type MLCC, this miniature capacitor measures just 0.4 x 0.2 mm and has both high ‘Q’ and low equivalent serial resistance (ESR) characteristics.
High Inductance EMC chokes
Almag have released data covering their latest HVCM and HVSM ranges of common-mode and differential-mode EMC chokes. These chokes are board-compatible with widely used catalogue types, but use higher performance cores to offer about twice the inductance.
