MPUs support digital encoder interface for AC servo applications
Supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, Renesas Electronics, has announced a new solution package for its RZ/T1 Group of microprocessors (MPUs) supporting HIPERFACE DSL digital encoder interface for AC servo applications. The support of HIPERFACE DSL for RZ/T1 reduces the customer’s system bill-of-materials (BOM) cost and enables faster time-to-market.
Software updated to include over 300 device models and schematics
The MPLAB Mindi analogue simulation software from Microchip has been updated to include more models and features. The MPLAB Mindi analogue simulator is a circuit simulation tool that now supports more than 300 Microchip analogue products, with SIMetrix’s enhanced SPICE (Simulation Programme with Integrated Circuit Emphasis) and SIMPLIS Technologies’ SIMPLIS (SIMulation of Piecewise LInear Systems) simulation environment...
AMC580 Zynq UltraScale+ module supports flexible clocking
VadaTech has announced the AMC580. The AMC580 is an AMC FPGA Carrier with Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ (XCZU19EG) FPGA and dual FMC (VITA-57) sites. The module supports flexible clocking with on-board jitter cleaner, and the FPGA connects to DP0-9 and all FMC LA/HA/HB pairs on both FMC sites. The FPGA has an interface to a single DDR4 memory channel (64-bit wide with ECC) which allows for large buffer sizes to be stored during processing.
Secure MCU boosts protection for connected devices
Global semiconductor company and supplier of Arm-based microcontrollers (MCU) used in IoT devices, STMicroelectronics, has welcomed Platform Security Architecture (PSA) from Arm as a major enabler for ubiquitous cyber security. ST's STM32H7 high-performing MCUs are designed with the same security concepts as the PSA framework and combine these principles with STM32-family enhanced security features and services.
Piezoelectrics stretch their potential
Piezoelectric materials are used for applications ranging from the spark igniter in barbeque grills to the transducers needed by medical ultrasound imaging. Thin-film piezoelectrics, with dimensions on the scale of micrometers or smaller, offer potential for new applications where smaller dimensions or a lower voltage operation are required.
Fanless system designed with Intel Atom processor
MEDWEL, a part of the Portwell group, has announced the launch of the MEDS-BS200, embedded fanless system featuring Intel Atom processor E3900 product family (codenamed Apollo Lake). Its special and compact design, plus low power consumption make the MEDS-BS200 a perfect solution to support applications for visualisation and computing solutions in medical application.
