Passive matrix displays offer crisper viewing quality
Available in sizes 1.27”, 1.5”, and 1.69”, a range of full color OLED displays have been added to Newhaven Display International's existing display portfolio. The rich black levels, 2000:1 contrast ratio and 262K featured colors of the passive matrix displays deliver a sharper and crisper viewing quality when compared to current LCDs.
3D scanner takes the leg work out of finding new shoes
A 3D foot scanner, designed to improve the shoe shopping experience, has been introduced by mifitto. The scanner integrates Elo Touch Solution's 3201L touchscreen, with the featured LED backlights offering a brightness of 350cd/m². The touchscreen is available with either PCAP or IntelliTouch Plus surface acoustic wave touch technologies.
LED eclipses halogen lamps colour consistency

LEDs target home and shop lighting applications
Osram Opto Semiconductors has added two new types to the Duris S5 family that are now available from distributor Rutronik. The LEDs with a very high CRI of more than 90 are ideal for the home and for shop lighting, for example installed in downlights or LED retrofit lamps.
Digital signage player detects environment brightness levels
A digital signage display, suitable for digital signage solutions, has been released by Axiomtek. The OFP321 is a 31.5" OPS standards based display, with a 1920x1080px panel and 3000:1 contrast. The built-in backlight and external brightness sensor is able to detect environment brightness levels to adjust LCD colour and backlight to maintain optimal performance.
WQHD 34" monitor features a resolution of 4.95m pixels
A monitor, claimed to be suitable for both professionals and cinema/gaming enthusiasts, has been introduced by AOC. The u3477Pqu is a 34" WQHD monitor, with 1.07bn colours and a resolution of 4.95m pixels, displayed on an UltraWide panoramic 21:9 screen. The monitor features interplay between hardware and software, a USB 3.0 port, DisplayPort and HDMI port with MHL functionality.
Display controller supports resolutions up to 2560x1600
A full-featured control solution designed for professional display systems has been introduced by Ginsbury. The SVX-2560 LCD controller from Digital View is designed to drive LCD panels up to 2560 × 1600 and will also drive large OLED panels. Dual digital display interface outputs, 4-channel LVDS and Embedded DisplayPort (eDP1.2), are featured.
