Radar-cross section simulation demonstrated at EuMW 2014
At European Microwave Week (EuMW) 2014, CST will be demonstrating the radar-cross section (RCS) simulation feature now available in it's updated electromagnetic simulation tool. The CST STUDIO SUITE is used by aerospace and defence companies and government agencies for mission-critical applications.
Development Platform supports 2D multi-touch & 3D gestures
Expanding the company's Human Interface Input Sensing Solutions portfolio, Microchip Technology has announced the 3DTouchPad PC peripheral. According to Microchip, this is the world’s first development platform that combines 2D multi-touch and 3D air gesture input focused on the PC/peripheral market.
RISC-based COM EVKs minimise installation time
Designed for RISC-based COM hardware platforms powered by the Freescale ARM Cortex-A9 i.MX6 processor, EVKs have been released by Advantech. The EVKs, which can be used with Qseven, SMARC and RTX 2.0 processors, evaluate function and performance validation, hardware design and application development.
Reference design reduces time-to-market for IoT applications
Supporting a wide range of applications, an IoT gateway reference design has been introduced by Freescale Semiconductor. The reference design, developed with TechNexion, is suitable for IoT applications requiring performance and reliability, including building/home management, smart cities and networked industrial services.
VIP for PCI Express architecture supports M-PCIe technology
A VIP for the M-PCIe protocol, including built-in M-PHY as defined by the MIPI Alliance specification, has been released by Synopsys. Enabling enhanced performance, ease of use and debug in SystemVerilog UVM environments, the VIP is based on the company's native SystemVerilog VIP architecture. The addition of M-PCIe technology to Synopsys' VIP for PCI Express architecture provides designers with a full-featured, SystemVerilog UVM solution to acce...
RF development platform targets AMI applications
Semtech will join with Wi-SUN Alliance members to produce a RF development platform targeting advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and industrial applications. Featuring the company's long-range LoRa technology, the SX1276 RF transceiver will be combined with a Kinetis MCU from Freescale and a Wi-SUN ready Nissin software stack.
LDRA & Microchip partner for functional safety
Allowing designers to meet functional-safety requirements, LDRA has partnered with Microchip Technology. Microchip recommends LDRA tools for applications that must comply with functional-safety standards such as ISO 26262 for road vehicles, IEC 61508 for industrial safety systems and EN 50128 for rail transportation systems.
Low leakage cell library enables smart metering applications
Due to its low leakage, the standard cell library from Dolphin Integrations has been chosen by Enverv to enable smart metering applications. Compared to a HVT library operating at 1.2V, the SESAME BIV library reduces leakage by 1/350.
Firmware development framework supports all 32-bit PIC MCUs
Supporting all 32-bit PIC MCUs, Microchip has announced the full release of a flexible, abstracted, fully integrated firmware development platform. MPLAB Harmony version 1.0 takes key elements of modular and object-oriented design, providing a framework of software modules that are easy to use, configurable for specific design requirements and purpose-built to work together.
