Site teaches IoT in a playful way
A global enabler of the IoT, Telit, has announced that the company is sponsoring the IOTORAMA Web Project, commissioned by Mobile World Capital Barcelona and demonstrated at the 2015 Mobile World Congress. The site, which has been created by the Alpha-ville Studio, allows people to learn about the IoT in a playful way.
Resequencing tool reduces usage of on-chip RAM & ROM by 40%
SOMNIUM Technologies, a Freescale Proven Partner, has announced the general availability of version 2.0 of its unique Device-aware Resequencing Tools (DRT) software development environment for Freescale Kinetis MCUs. DRT 2.0 brings further improvements to DRT's patented resequencing optimisations, a significant revision in the Eclipse IDE, and full compatibility with the latest version of Freescale's Kinetis Design Studio (KDS) IDE.
Bringing simulation technology to mainstream automotive design
A technical agreement to bring simulators and associated technology to the global automotive market has been annouced from McLaren Applied Technologies (M.A.T.) and MTS Systems. Under the terms of the agreement, M.A.T. and MTS will create and deliver a next-gen Vehicle Dynamics Simulator (VDS), which uses a tightly integrated ‘driver-in-the-loop’ system for engineering the development of road cars.
PCB tool suites target the independent engineer
To address the advancing needs of the independent engineer, Mentor Graphics has introduced three PADS tool suites. The PCB design solutions, which include the PADS Standard, the PADS Standard Plus and the PADS Professional, combine ease of use with productive design and analysis technologies.
DC application varistor design guide
The AUMOV series varistor is designed for circuit protection in low voltage (12, 24 and 42VDC) automotive systems. This series is available in five disc sizes with radial leads with a choice of epoxy or phenolic coatings. The automotive MOV varistor is AEC-Q200 compliant. It offers robust load dump, jump start and peak surge current ratings, as well as high energy absorption capabilities.
Ethernet timing features improve automotive design
To strenghthen and improve timing design and verification for automotive Ethernet and multicore systems, Symtavision has launched SymTA/S 3.7. It introduces new Ethernet timing design and verification features including the modeling and analysis of dynamic data chains and data dependent dynamic Ethernet frame packing. It also has faster system distribution analysis compared to previous versions.
Engineering simulation to help build quantum computers
The world’s 'most advanced' quantum computers are being built and designed by D-Wave Systems with help from engineering simulation solutions from ANSYS. This next-gen of supercomputers uses quantum mechanics to massively accelerate computation and has the potential to solve some of the most complex computing problems facing organisations today.
Enhance the listening experience of consumer devices
ON Semiconductor and AfterMaster HD Audio Labs have announced the BelaSigna 300 AM DSP chip embedded with AfterMaster technology. According to the company's, this ground-breaking audio solution will dramatically enhance the listening experience on any consumer device.
Hybrid IP prototyping kits accelerate prototyping
Synopsys has expanded its IP Accelerated initiative with support for ARM processors with the DesignWare Hybrid IP prototyping kits. The kits enable designers to prototype the ARM processor and memory elements of a design in a virtual environment for superior debug visibility, and to develop software for the DesignWare interface IP in an FPGA-based environment for high-performance execution with real-world interface connectivity.
Debug platform updated to embrace programmable SOCs
Version 4.4.3 of its Universal Debug Engine (UDE), which provides an optimised testing and debugging environment especially for the Xilinx Zynq-7000 SoC family of devices has been ingtroduced by PLS Programmierbare Logik & Systeme. The All Programmable SoCs of the Xilinx Zynq-7000 family of devices combine for the first time dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 architecture with the functionality of complex Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) on ...
