SSD software enhances burst performance by up to 10 times
Crucial has announced significant updates to its Storage Executive tool. The 3.20 version features Momentum Cache, an intelligent caching feature that can enhance burst performance by up to 10 times and allows users to extend SSD lifetime by reducing redundant writes. The tool uses idle memory for caching as needed, and can be installed easily via the Storage Executive interface.

Cadence Design Systems has announced that its implementation and signoff tools have achieved certification on the Intel 14nm process for customers of Intel Custom Foundry, which utilised a PowerVR Series6 GPU from Imagination Technologies as part of the certification process. Breakthrough doubles single & multi-core speed-up
Synopsys has announced FastSPICE simulation breakthroughs in its CustomSim circuit simulator 2015.06 release that doubles multi-core speed-up on four cores, enabling design teams to keep pace with the increasing complexity of verifying advanced-node and mixed-signal designs. Optimisations in CustomSim deliver double single-core speed-up for designs using BCD (Bipolar-CMOS-DMOS) process technology, such as PMICs.
Integrated IoT platform suits 40nm ultra low power process
Synopsys and TSMC are collaborating to develop an integrated IoT platform on TSMC's 40nm ultra low power process technology. The platform incorporates a broad range of DesignWare IP, including an integrated sensor and control IP subsystem with the ultra low power ARC EM5D processor core, power- and area-optimised logic libraries, memory compilers, NVM, MIPI and USB interfaces as well as an ADC.
RTOS certified by SGS-TÜV Saar
Express Logic has announced that its ThreadX RTOS has been certified by SGS-TÜV Saar for use in the highest integrity levels of ISO 26262, the international standard governing automotive electronic and electrical systems. SGS-TÜV Saar, the independent company for testing, auditing, verifying, and certifying embedded software for safety-related systems, analysed and verified the ThreadX RTOS for use in the development of such systems.
