The industry's first USB 3.1 interoperability demonstration
Synopsys has announced the successful interoperability demonstration of Synopsys' DesignWare USB 3.1 device controller IP with ASMedia's USB-IF certified USB 3.1 host controller IC. Proven interoperability between the two companies' products demonstrates that the DesignWare USB 3.1 IP works as defined by the USB 3.1 specification and reduces design risk of integrating the USB 3.1 IP into applications requiring 10Gb/s data transfers.
Coding platform opens new route to wireless design
The Digi XBee / Arduino-Compatible Coding Platform is now available exclusively from distributor Digi-Key for $99. The platform, developed by Digi International, provides a comprehensive resource for developers to learn about the XBee API and other key features that enable reliable wireless communications for many real-world applications, such as, working control systems and sensing networks.
IP management solution is 30 times faster than predecessor
ClioSoft has released version 7.0 of its SOS design data and enterprise IP management platform. SOS7 builds on the 18-year success of the EDA industry’s most widely-installed design data and enterprise IP management solution for analogue, RF, digital and mixed-signal designs.
TESSY V3.2.7 qualification renewed
TESSY, the tool for automated unit/module/integration testing of embedded software, was again qualified for safety-related software development according to IEC 61508:2010 and ISO 26262:2011. The qualification was done by the TÜV SÜD and is valid since version V3.2.7 of TESSY.
Automotive MCU compiler receives major update
Altium has announced the release of a major update to its TASKING compiler for TriCore/AURIX MCUs which power advanced automotive applications. This release supports next-gen Infineon TriCore technologies and enables engineers to begin early development on advanced automotive applications before the AURIX family line is released publicly.
16nm FinFET+ IP range achieves multi-organisation certification
Synopsys has achieved certification and compliance from multiple standard organisations for a broad range of DesignWare IP on the TSMC 16-nm FinFET Plus (16FF+) process including USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, PCI Express 3.1, HDMI 2.0, MIPI D-PHY and SATA IP solutions. By achieving certification of its DesignWare IP, Synopsys gives designers confidence that the IP is interoperable and functions as expected...
Debugging & visualisation tool range is enhanced
Concept Engineering has announced major enhancements to the entire Vision product line for designers of analogue, digital, mixed-signal circuits, SoCs and FPGAs. StarVision PRO, RTLvision PRO, GateVision PRO, and SpiceVision PRO are customisable and scriptable debugging and visualisation software tools that help electronic design engineers to easily understand, debug, optimise and document their designs.
Commercial code is more compliant to security standards
Announcing the release of its annual Coverity Scan Open Source Report, Synopsys has revealed that commercial code is more compliant to security standards than open source code.
Automotive development suite offers improved RTE & supports J1939Tp
