Bias network offers repeatability over a 2-18GHz range
The MABT-011000 bias network, suitable for the DC biasing of PIN diode control circuits, has been introduced by M/A-COM Technology. Utilising the company's HMIC process, the fully monolithic network is designed for customers requiring a rugged HMIC device with low loss, high performance and repeatability through millimetre frequencies.
SOMs enable instant WiFi, GPRS or Ethernet connectivity
Alpha Micro Components has been by appointed by OpenPicus as the UK reseller of it's FlyPort PRO range of SOMs. Providing designers of IoT devices instant WiFi, GPRS or Ethernet connectivity, the SOMs reduce time-to-market by as much as six months. The devices, which measure 34x34mm, are suitable for energy meters, light controllers, home automation, industrial automation and data loggers.
Gateway simplifies installation into IoT environments
Designed for the IoT, the ICO300 industrial gateway has been released by Axiomtek. Powered by the 22nm E3815 (1.46GHz) Intel Atom processor, the gateway features a din-rail, fanless and rugged design. The industrial gateway, which supports up to 4GB DDR3L system memory, is offered with wireless support, four RS-232/422/485 ports, two isolated Gigabit Ethernet ports and two high-speed USB 2.0 ports.
Embedded PC supports 4K2K resolution
Utilising the Intel Haswell ULT multi-core SoC, the eBOX560-880-FL embedded computer system has been released by Axiomtek. To withstand vibration of up to 3Grms (with SSD), the compact system is offered in an IP40-rated rugged aluminium cold-rolled steel enclosure. The embedded PC, which is fanless, operates within a -20 to +50°C temperature range.
3-in-1 interface eases USB to serial conversion
Amplicon is helping to solve the problem of industrial sector laptop computers that are used as a tool for accessing devices but are no longer supplied with an RS-232 interface. As there are still a large number of serial devices being used in the industrial sector this can cause problems when trying to connect to legacy devices.
Switches provide a secure on-machine Ethernet connection
At SPS IPC Drives 2014, Molex will present a range of Ethernet switches for plant floor and industrial automation network applications. The Brad Direct-Link harsh-duty unmanaged Ethernet switches provide a secure on-machine Ethernet connection, which helps reduce complex network cabling, lower network costs and eliminate common wiring errors.
Desktop platform is offered with Intel QuickAssist
Designed to support secure network applications, the PL-80590 desktop platform has been released by WIN Enterprises. Powered by the next-gen Intel Atom C2000 processor family with two, four or eight cores, the platform is offered with a number of security features including Intel AES New Instructions and Intel QuickAssist Technology.
AMD’s AM79C940B series MACE chip re-introduced by Rochester
The Media Access Controller for Ethernet (MACE) chip is a CMOS VLSI device designed to provide flexibility in customised LAN design. The MACE device addresses applications where multiple I/O peripherals are present, and a centralised or system specific DMA is required. The high speed, 16-bit synchronous system interface is optimised for an external DMA or I/O processor system.
100G ATCA technology is successfully tested
The testing of 100G ATCA technology, which is claimed to be an industry first, has been successfully completed by Artesyn Embedded Technologies. In a single open standards-based bladed server system, the technology enables next-gen applications in SDN and NFV deployments to achieve up to 4Tb/s aggregate throughput.
Platform utilises SoCs for the 'true' connected car
Support for the Renesas R-Car M2 and Renesas R-Car H2 SoCs is now available from Cinemo. Enabling video hardware acceleration with extremely low CPU loads, Cinemo’s multimedia platform utilises the R-Car M2 and H2 architecture for Blu-Ray and Full HD video playback, streaming, ultra-fast media management, connectivity, and full Rear Seat Entertainment (RSE).
