Solyndra Expands European Capabilities to Serve Growing Rooftop Solar Demand

Solyndra, Inc., a manufacturer of cylindrical photovoltaic (PV) systems for large commercial rooftops today announced several elements of the company's strategy to meet growing demand for Solyndra solar systems throughout Europe.
In addition to adding several new regional offices, the company founded Solyndra International AG, in Baar, Switzerland and named Solyndra's president of Europe, Middle East and Africa, Clemens G. Jargon as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Solyndra International AG.

With new sales offices in Italy, France and the Czech Republic and our representative in the Middle East we are establishing strong local capabilities to meet customer needs. We are evaluating additional offices in the UK and Benelux as well said Clemens Jargon. Our new headquarters in Baar, Switzerland, and the establishment of Solyndra International AG, lays a foundation on which we can extend and optimize our presence to better serve customers throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East. We will maintain a strong presence in Germany while extending our reach into several key growth areas.

Solyndra has more than 500 rooftop installations representing more than 60 megawatts in more than 10 countries, throughout EMEA. Today the company employs approximately 30 employees in Europe.
