Anglia Components has further enhanced its proficiency as a supplier of electronic components with the announcement that it has received ISO14001 accreditation from the British Standards Institution (BSI). The ISO14001 standard represents a core set of standards used for designing and implementing an effective environmental management system to help minimise how business operations impact the environment.
Steve Rawlins, Anglia CEO commented, “British Standards has examined Anglia’s procedures for the handling of waste streams, recycling processes, energy and materials saving initiatives. We are fully committed to minimising the environmental impact of conducting business and pursuing opportunities to benefit in reduced operational costs wherever possible.”

Presenting the award, Steve Barclay MP, Member of Parliament for North East Cambridgeshire said, “I was delighted to visit Anglia Components Ltd in Wisbech to present the environmental award ISO14001 to the Chairman, Neville Reyner CBE DL and Quality Manager, Malcolm Grant. The award is testament to this Company's commitment to meeting standards as well as commitment to the environment. On my tour of the facility I was fascinated by the sophisticated use of technology in the Anglia operation, from the warehouse and the products they market and sell, through to the design and engineering support they give the customers they serve. To have a hi-tech organisation that is also doing exceptionally well in my constituency is most encouraging.”

Malcolm Grant, Quality Manager at Anglia said, “With the implementation of recent environmental directives such as WEEE, RoHS and REACH our customers have become more environmentally aware. This accreditation endorses Anglia’s ability to meet the highest standards possible in the delivery of electronic components. The stringent requirements of ISO14001 will provide a framework that ensures Anglia will make continuous improvements to our environmental performance.”

Anglia, the UK’s leading privately owned electronic component distributor, is already one of an elite few distributors to hold AS9120, one of the world’s most demanding quality standards, IECQ-CECC qualification, which provides full traceability for the handling, storage and management of any IECQ-CECC certified devices. It is also a signatory of the ADS SC21 programme.
