Ultra Sonar Systems has announced that it has joined forces with Kraken Robotic Systems to support the supply of their SeaScout system to the Royal Danish Navy. The SeaScout is comprised of Kraken’s KATFISH towed Synthetic Aperture Sonar vehicle, Tentacle Winch and Autonomous Launch and Recovery System (ALARS) and will be integrated onto the Royal Danish Navy’s optionally unmanned surface vessels in support of their mine countermeasur...
European police choose SkyWall net capture drone
SkyWall Patrol was operated in a live urban environment in a series of tests. These tests were conducted at the end of 2019 as part of the Internal Security Fund - Police project SKYFALL, an EU-funded programme. The system was then down selected as part of a formal evaluation, due to SkyWall Patrol’s unmatched range and performance, while providing a low collateral damage and physical defeat of the target drones.
Efficient and accurate drives for robotic applications
The robotics market has seen a significant growth in business over the past decade, and their presence has become more common. Frank Malik, Principal Engineer Solution Marketing, Toshiba Electronics Europe, discusses the technology that is driving them forward.

Robotics in 2021: collaboration and mobility
According to a 2020 survey by Mckinsey Global, COVID-19 has caused companies to accelerate the digitalisation of their internal operations by three to four years. The surge in digital uptake will propel the robotics industry forwards, shaping its contribution to businesses in 2021. Here, Stewart Goulding, Managing Director at Electro Mechanical Systems (EMS), explores robotic trends to look out for in the sector this year.
Drones: the key technology for the next decade
Drones are the key technology of the coming two decades. They are used in many different aspects of industry, and commercial use of this technology has never been higher. In its new market research report, 'Drone Market and Industries 2021-2041', IDTechEx predicts that the drone market will reach over $22bn by 2041, attributed in part to this wide range of use cases. This article aims to provide you with an essential understanding and insight int...
Milrem Robotics rolls out its new Type-X RCV
The medium class Type-X RCV (Robotic Combat Vehicle) developed by Milrem Robotics passed its initial mobility tests. The Type-X RCV designed to support mechanised units was first announced in the summer of last year. The Type-X will become an intelligent wingman to main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles capable of taking on the most dangerous tasks and positions, which result in lower lethality risk.
