Z-Communications has announced an RoHS-compliant VCO model CRO3650B-LF, guaranteed to cover 3600-3700MHz within a tuning voltage range of 0.5-4.5VDC. The high-performance VCO features a spectrally clean signal of -101dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset and a typical tuning sensitivity of 60MHz/V.

The CRO3650B-LF is designed to deliver 3±3dBm of output power into a 50Ω load while operating off a 5VDC supply and drawing typically 26mA of current. This low noise VCO operates over the extended commercial temperature range of -40 to +85°C. The VCO is well suited for satellite communication systems and digital microwave radio equipment applications that require low phase noise performance.

The VCO features typical second harmonic suppression of -20dBc and comes in Z-Comm's standard, MINI-16-SM package measuring 0.5x0.5x0.22". The CRO3650B-LF is available in tape and reel packaging for production requirements making it suitable for automated surface mount assembly and reflow.
