Operating at 445 to 480MHz with a tuning voltage range of 0.5 to 2.5VDC, the V480MEM2-LF VCO has been released by Z-Communications. Featuring a typical tuning sensitivity of 25MHz/V, the device has a spectrally clean signal of -113dBc/Hz at 100kHz offset. Operating from a 3.3VDC power supply and typically consuming 12mA, the VCO delivers 0dBm output power into a 50Ω load.

The V480MEM2-LF, which operates across an industrial temperature range of -40 to 85°C, features typical second harmonic suppression of -12dBc. The RoHS compliant device is offered in the company’s standard MINI-16M-L package, which measures 12.7x12.7x3.3mm. Suitable for automated surface mount assembly and reflow, the VCO is available in tape and reel packaging. The device is suitable for use with UHF radios and portable satellite modem applications that require low phase noise performance.
