AU Optronics is one of the biggest TFT manufacturers with own cell production in Taiwan. For more than 17 years, AUO follows a consistent industrial strategy. Moreover they proofed that guaranteed long term availability of minimum 3 years is not only promised but really practiced. Over the years, AUO showed that common sizes like 8.4”, 10.4” or 15” can be produced for 10 years continually. Of course these products need face lifts from time to time in order to keep them productive. The highest goal while bringing a successor to the market is to keep it compatible for the customer in terms of form, fit and function. This process is pursued in a very controlled manner within a clearly defined EOL procedure.
Besides the common 4:3 format TFTs, AUO also offers a full product line up for wide format 16:10 displays. Furthermore they came up with a new product in “stretch-format”. With this new format it is possible now to provide panels into new applications where no suitable panel was available before. These new products are “cut panels” meaning a display with a panel size of 55.9 cm (22”) is cut and a completely new TFT - G190SF01 V0 - is born which is only a third of the original panel. This new TFT has a resolution of 1680 x 342 dots. A typical brightness of 300cd/m² is achieved through LED backlights and already integrated LED drivers. With a physical size of 493.7 x 124.8 x 18.5 mm the panel is suitable for all applications where available space in terms of height is limited. The display can be used in portrait mode as well as in landscape mode due to its MVA-technology which allows a very good viewing angle from all directions. Analog to this product, a ¼ CUT of a former 48.26 cm (19“) is available as well. The G151EVN01.0 showes outline dimensions of 396 x 100.8 x 17.3 mm and a resolution of 1280 x 248 dots.

Fitting driving solutions and certified accessories are certainly also supplied by DATA MODUL.
