An experienced development team was brought on board to create professional embedded computing design and has now opened a new development centre in Deggendorf (Germany) to house all key technologies under one roof.

Low power consumption features on Haswell-based SBC

A new 3.5in single board computer (SBC), the MS-98F3, that is powered by the  latest Intel Haswell/Broadwell ULT processors has been introduced by Data Modul. The system-on-chip (SoC) offers low power consumption and high performance capabilities.  The fanless SBC is equipped with one 204-pin DDR3L SODIMM socket that supports up to 8GB DDR3L 1333/1600 memory.

Panel PC offers touch functionality for wet & gloved hands

Data Modul has released a 10.1" Panel PC, providing a resolution of 1280x800px (WUXGA) and luminance of 450cd/m2 which allows excellent readability from all viewing angles, even under bright ambient conditions. The PC incorporates SITO (Single-Side-ITO), the latest PCAP touch technology. The easyTOUCH SITO is completely based on Atmel maxTouch T-series controllers, allowing touch functionality when wearing gloves or with wet hands.

SBC supports up to 2560x1600px

The eDM-pITX-BT, a Pico-ITX SBC based on 22nm Intel Atom processors, has been introduced by DATA MODUL. Equipped with up to 4GB DDR3L RAM, the computer is available in two CPU variants: the Intel Atom E3815 or the Intel Celeron J1900. For reliable operation, both the RAM and CPU are located at the rear side of the PCB. To provide cooling, the device is available with a heat spreader or a heat sink.

  DATA MODUL introduced SITO (Single sided ITO) touch screen sensors at electronica 2014, which took place from 11th to 14th November in Munich. The easyTOUCH SITO sensors were received well at the bi-annual electronics event.

Intelligent, industrial panel PCs are plug & play

  Based on the eDM-CB-Colibri carrier board, widescreen 7, 10.1 and 12.1”, industrial panel PCs have been introduced by DATA MODUL. The pin-compatible Colibri ARM embedded CoM product family supports NVIDIA Tegra 2 & 3, Freescale Vybrid and I. MX6 processors.

SBC features 4GB DDRL3 RAM & powerful integrated graphics

DATA MODUL presents a Pico-ITX Board based on Intel Atom processors (formerly codenamed “Bay Trail”) and equipped with up to 4GB DDR3L RAM. Heat sources such as CPU and RAM are located at the rear side of the PCB, for which available cooling solutions are a heat spreader, or a heat sink with a height of only 15mm. With the heat spreader, the eDM-pITX-BT can be directly adapted to a housing.

Hall-Effect joystick fits well into handheld applications

The new Hall-Effect Joystick from Grayhill – Series 67B with a pushbutton and momentary rotation – is available from Data Modul. The hall-effect sensor magnetically detects the shaft position anywhere its 20-degree field of travel in each X and Y direction, as well as the momentary rotation around the Z axis.

Data Modul has introduced the conga-MA3, the new generation of Intel Atom processors in COM Express Mini Type 10 format from their Partner congatec. The conga-MA3 provides twice the performance over its predecessor plus an optimised product lifespan thanks to development with ceramic condensators.

DATA MODUL has introduced an industrial Mini-ITX powered by Intel Celeron N2930/J1900, a SoC codenamed "Bay Trail". Based on the 22nm Silvermont microarchitecture, the processors are designed for intelligent systems and applications with low power consumption and high performance requirements.

TFT displays meet weight, space demands

Data Modul is offering a new range of small and medium sized TFTs from Ortustech Technology aimed at applications where space and weight are key considerations. The TFTs are in sizes ranging from 5.1 cm (2.0in) up to 17.78 cm (7.0in) screen sizes. One key product is the 5.6 cm (2.2in) TFT the COM22H2P16ULC.

TFT display stands up to harsh environments

KOE’s new TX31D200VM0BAA features HSXGA (1280 x 480) resolution, an 8 : 3 wide aspect ratio and IPS wide viewing angle technology. Excellent image performance is achieved with a contrast ratio of 1000 : 1 and a brightness of 1000 cd/m². The white LED backlight features an integrated driver circuit and a specified half-brightness lifetime of 70k hours. It is available from Data Modul.

4.8in. TFT module readable from all directions

Japanese TFT module supplier, Ortustech Technology is now offering a wide product range of small and medium sized TFTs from 5.1 cm (2.0in.) up to 17.78 cm (7.0in.) screen sizes. One key product is the 12.2 cm (4.8”) TFT - COM43H4M87ULC. The TFT has a very high resolution of 720 x 1280 dots enabling a sharp and crystal clear image.
