HIROSE and HARTING to focus on a new standard
HARTING and HIROSE have reached agreement on the joint development, product standardisation and marketing of a miniaturised connection technology system for 10GbE.
ODU to demonstrate ODU-MAC portfolio at electronica
At electronica 2016, 8th to 11th November in Munich, Germany, ODU will for the first time present its advanced ODU-MAC portfolio, including a new performance class. With the restructuring of the modular multi-talent ODU-MAC in three lines, ODU ensures a clear positioning and makes it even easier for customers to find individual solutions based on the modular design.
A low-force option to connect LCDs to circuit boards
Fujipoly has announced its Self-Supporting Sponge Connectors which provide engineers with an excellent, low-force option for connecting LCDs to circuit boards. The physical characteristics of the sponge dramatically reduce bowing of the PCB due to the minimal force required to make full electrical contact. This also makes the connector a great choice for high-vibration environments and hand-held devices.
Banding backshell ensures 360 degree shielding
The new EM360 machined banding backshell from Positronic aimed at D-subminiature connector applications is now available from distributor Astute Electronics. Developed in response to industry demands for constantly improved shielding effectiveness, the machined banding backshell provides 360 degree shield termination capability in a lightweight form factor. It is targeted to spaceflight and commercial aerospace applications where overall shieldin...
250V connectors utilise push-in cage clamp technology
Schukat has added Wago’s WINSTA connection system to its range of products. These connectors from Wago, designed for use with 250V, are built for connecting and disconnecting without load. Schukat now supplies the WINSTA Mini (series 890) with 2-pole plugs and sockets and a rated current of 16A, and the WINSTA Midi (series 770) with a 3-pole configuration and specified current rating of 25A.
Connectors serve harsh environment applications
A supplier of rugged and environmentally sealed connectors, Chogori, has expanded its M series connector family to include IP67-rated M8 models for indoor and outdoor applications. The screw-locking waterproof M8 connectors are designed to meet the rigorous requirements for industrial machinery, marine electronics, LED screen power, and signal control applications.
Printed circuit connectors patent cuts installation time
A new series of Flexible Printed Circuit Connectors from Omron designed for miniaturised products is now available in Europe at distributor TTI. The Omron XF-Series FPCs feature a patented backlock mechanism which cuts approximately two seconds from the installation time of each connector when compared to competitive products, resulting in a time saving of up to 30 days on an average installation of half a million connectors.
Sealed Micro USB connectors are now waterproof
JST, Waukegan, Illinois, has recently introduced a new Sealed Micro USB connector that provides a space saving and low profile interface connection for cellular phone and mobile equipment conforming to Micro-USB standard with a IPX7 sealing rating (water tight for 30min to a depth of 1m).
Web-based tool introduced to create customised cable assemblies
A new Cable Design Tool has been announced by Pickering Interfaces, a provider of modular signal switching and simulation for electronic test and verification.
