24-bit USB modules include data logging software
Three USB data acquisition modules from Data Translation are offered as complete high-accuracy temperature measurement solutions including the easy-to-use QuickDAQ data logging software. The DT9828, DT9829 and DT9874 modules support the direct connection of thermocouples and thermistors, and provide highly accurate 24-bit A/D technology and galvanic isolation.
Signal and spectrum analyser joins rental ranks
A flagship signal and spectrum analyser from Rohde & Schwarz has joined the rental inventory at test equipment sourcing specialist Livingston. The R&SFSW analyser features phase noise of -137dBc at 10kHz carrier offset and dynamic range of 88dBc with noise cancellation. It can carry out 1000 measurement sweeps per second. This means that engineers can explore and evaluate wideband-modulated or frequency agile signal traces.
Anite acquisition strengthens Keysight software position
Keysight Technologies has bolstered its test and measurement software armoury with the acquisition of UK-based Anite. At 126p per share, the acquisition values Anite (on a fully diluted basis) at approximately £388 million or US$606 million. This cash acquisition has been unanimously recommended by the board of directors of Anite.
Agenda extended at July testing and approvals conference
This year’s Testing and Global Approvals Conference 2015, hosted by testing and certification group, TRaC Global, will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at the Williams Conference Centre, home of the Williams F1 team, near Oxford. Held for the first time last year, the demand for a specialist testing event resulted in nearly 200 UK testing and certification specialists attending.
Fujitsu deploys electricity usage rate calculation system
Fujitsu has announced that it has received an order from Hokkaido Gas to develop and deploy an electricity usage rate calculation system.
Companies unite to update integrated OTA solution
Following the successful launch of world’s first LTE 3CC Carrier Aggregation OTA measurement solution in December last year, Bluetest and Anritsu have integrated the new Anritsu Radio Communication Analyser MT8821C and Bluetest’s recently released 5th generation OTA Reverberation Test System RTS65.
DRAM, NAND flash memory test costs cut
The new T5833 system from Advantest is a cost-efficient, high-volume test solution capable of performing both wafer sort and final test of DRAM and NAND flash memory devices. Shipments to customers are beginning this month. Amid surging sales of mobile electronics, DRAMs, NAND flash memories and multi-chip packages (MCPs) — the main device types used in smart phones and tablets — are quickly evolving toward higher speeds and greater d...
Arbitrary waveform generators output signals at 625Ms/s
Three new M4i series Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWG's) have been announced by Spectrum. The new models of the M4i.66xx series offer one, two and four channels with each channel capable of outputting electronic signals at rates of up to 625 Megasamples/second (MS/s) with 16 bit vertical resolution.
Microchip’s MOST150 INICs enhance Kia Telematics
Kia Motors is enriching its infotainment system with powerful smart-phone connectivity in its flagship Kia K900 luxury sedan (known as Quoris in some countries), using Microchip’s OS81110 INIC (Intelligent Network Interface Controller). Building on years of experience using Microchip’s MOST INICs, Kia adopted the latest MOST150 standard for the 2015 K900 in order to take advantage of its internet-connectivity capabilities.
Particle inspection analyses surface of wafer production
The wafer production for the semiconductor industry is a serious business. EVT has now developed a programme for particle inspection, with EyeVision software. Particles are probably the best known defects when it comes to the wafer production. During transport, processing or even in the plant itself, particles such as dust or material abrasion, can settle on the wafer.
