Openreach chooses Anritsu fibre optic test equipment
Anritsu has won a contract from Openreach, BT’s access network division, for the supply of fibre optic test equipment to support the deployment of advanced high speed fibre optic networks. Anritsu will supply more than 1,000 units of the MT9090A Network Master under the contract, to measure the quality of fibre optic cable and connections in order to verify the installation.
CO2 transmitter dismisses pollution problems
The new CO2 transmitter series EE850 and EE820 from E+E Elektronik allow highly accurate and reliable measurements of CO2 concentrations up to 10,000 ppm. The applied infrared measurement principle (dual wavelength NDIR procedure) is particularly insensitive to pollution. The transmitter’s autocalibration function automatically compensates for ageing effects.
16-bit DAQ features 100 kS/s sample rates
Two new, low-cost, 16-bit, multifunction USB DAQ devices are now available from Adept Scientific. The USB-230 Series, manufactured by Measurement Computing, offers sample rates up to 100 kS/s. The USB-234 offers sample rates up to 100 kS/s, and the USB-231 up to 50 kS/s. Both models feature eight single-ended/four differential analogue inputs.
PCT system aproved for eMBMS broadcasts
Anritsu says that it is the first industry approved protocol conformance test cases for mobile devices capable of receiving eMBMS broadcasts. The test and measurement specialist submitted eMBMS test cases to the Global Certification Forum (GCF) ahead of the CAG#39 meeting held in Helsinki on July 8-9 2014, following an increase in network operator priority to bring this new technology to consumer markets this year.
Mixed signal oscilloscope gets memory, firmware upgrades
Yokogawa's DLM2000 mixed-signal oscilloscope has been enhanced with longer memory capabilities and a number of firmware improvements. In the new version, the length of the acquisition memory has been increased up to 62.5 Mpoints in the standard unit and up to 250 Mpoints with the extended memory option.
Radio test set boasts hybrid portable design
A radio test set equipped with what is claimed to be the industry’s largest touch-screen colour display has been unveiled by Aeroflex. It is a high performance, economical radio test system for Analog AM and FM; and Digital P25, DMR, dPMR, NXDN, and ARIB T98 technologies. The Aeroflex 8800 has a new hybrid portable design that provides bench-level test features while maintaining the low weight, ruggedness, and 2.5 hour internal battery req...
Getting to correlation
The truth behind real-time and sampling oscilloscope jitter measurements. By Daniel Ruebusch, Agilent Technologies.
Test solution meets USB 3.1 challenges
Agilent Technologies has launched a test solution for characterising USB 3.1 receivers. Using the Agilent USB 3.1 receiver test set, design and test engineers in the semiconductor and computer industry can now accurately characterise and verify USB 3.1 receiver ports in ASICs and chipsets.
Camera recognises & classifies demanding surface defects
A surface inspection system, which can be used in all stages of the steel strip production, has been developed using the RazerCam smart camera series. The system, developed by EVT, can be applied in real time due to the free-programmable FPGAs of the camera complex filters. Two different systems are available, which are either equipped with a line scan camera or with a matrix camera. A combination of both camera types is also possible.
PIM analyser tracks TETRA network problems
Link Microteck has the latest addition to AWT Global’s range of PIM analysers, the S1L TETRA MK2. It has been designed for testing antennae, cables and components to enable sources of PIM (passive intermodulation) distortion to be located and eliminated from the TETRA network infrastructure.
