Emulation technology widens microcontroller coverage
GOEPEL electronic's Universal processor emulation with VarioTAP technology has been extended to cover the Tiva C series from Texas Instruments. The processor is reconfigured to provide design-integrated test and programming instruments via the native debug port. A respective VarioTAP model, as part of an extensive IP library, contains all relevant access information for the respective target processor.
Transmitter test software ensures USB 3.1 compliance
Keysight Technologies has introduced transmitter (TX) test support for the USB 3.1 specification with the U7243B USB 3.1 transmitter performance validation and compliance test software. The test software allows authorised test centres to certify SuperSpeed USB and SuperSpeed USB 10-Gbps devices and gives in-house test and performance validation engineers the tools to ensure their devices comply with the USB 3.1 specification.
Software tools integration aids QA, engineering
Vector Software has announced an integration with Jama that helps engineering and QA professionals boost software quality by using the VectorCAST test tool and Jama Test Management to link test cases to requirements, run test plans, and log related defects to ensure complete test coverage.Jama Software’s test management solution is tightly integrated with its requirements management and collaboration capabilities for seamless workflows betw...
electronica 2014: Six-in-one scope rolls into Munich
The six-in-one MDO3000 Series oscilloscope will take centre stage on the Tektronix stand at electronica. Not just a scope it also integrates a spectrum analyser, logic analyser, protocol analyser, arbitrary function generator and digital voltmeter. Its presence will emphasise how it enables engineers to clear their bench of multiple instruments.
electronica 2014: Thermal imaging solution makes debut
Canada-based Acculogic travel to electronica armed with an array of test equipment. Pride of place goes to the the FLS980 Series III with the Ultimate Accuracy Package Option along with high-throughput features such as the latest version Flying Bed of Nails (FBON). The new ThermoScan thermal imaging test solution and MircoScan miniature image observation and testing solutions will be unveiled at the show for the first time.
App enables SMU to hook up to smart devices
Keithley Instruments has developed IVy, an Android based app that allows smartphones and tablets to interact with a Keithley Series 2600B SourceMeter SMU instrument via its front panel USB interface. IVy extends Keithley's Touch, Test, Invent design philosophy to offer users of the benchtop instrument a fast, easy-to-use touchscreen tool for characterising 2- and 3-terminal devices.
CAN traffic analysis added to data acquisition software
The latest version of IPETRONIK’s IPEmotion 2014 data acquisition software has been extended with numerous enhancements and optimisations. Major extensions apply to CAN traffic analysis and CAN traffic simulation. Further, it is now possible to edit data records and new export parameters such as parameters for V-TAB scaling are now available.
Conformal coating inspection system extends scope
Viscom will be demonstrating the S3088 Conformal Coating Inspection (CCI) system at electronica in Munich (Nov 11-14). The system which inspects protective conformal coating quickly, with full reliability is now being offered with an extended inspection scope. The system can now be equipped with angled cameras for reliable inspection between components. A wet inspection that checks the conformal coating for flaws before complete curing also is av...
Local team fields full test squad at electronica
electronica in Munich (Nov 11-14) is a home game for the Munich-based locals Rohde & Schwarz so it will not miss the opportunity to parade a tranche of instruments before the show's international audience. These range from general-purpose to high-end measuring instruments, for the lab and the production line.
