Arbitrary waveform generators output signals at 625Ms/s
Three new M4i series Arbitrary Waveform Generators (AWG's) have been announced by Spectrum. The new models of the M4i.66xx series offer one, two and four channels with each channel capable of outputting electronic signals at rates of up to 625 Megasamples/second (MS/s) with 16 bit vertical resolution.
Microchip’s MOST150 INICs enhance Kia Telematics
Kia Motors is enriching its infotainment system with powerful smart-phone connectivity in its flagship Kia K900 luxury sedan (known as Quoris in some countries), using Microchip’s OS81110 INIC (Intelligent Network Interface Controller). Building on years of experience using Microchip’s MOST INICs, Kia adopted the latest MOST150 standard for the 2015 K900 in order to take advantage of its internet-connectivity capabilities.
Particle inspection analyses surface of wafer production
The wafer production for the semiconductor industry is a serious business. EVT has now developed a programme for particle inspection, with EyeVision software. Particles are probably the best known defects when it comes to the wafer production. During transport, processing or even in the plant itself, particles such as dust or material abrasion, can settle on the wafer.
High voltage artificial networks conduct emission testing
Two high voltage artificial networks designed for conducted emission tests and line termination during susceptibility tests for components have been launched by Teseq. The HV-AN 150 and HV-AN S150 are both ideal for use in automotive, military and airborne standards applications.
Safety service aids IEC 62368-1 compliance
A hazard-based safety engineering service to help electronics manufacturers cope with the requirements of the new IEC 62368-1 standard for audio visual and information technology products has been launched by TUV SUD Project Service. IEC 62368-1 is the first standard to introduce a hazard-based approach, rather than the more prescriptive method traditionally used for product safety.
Programmable DC electronic loads test variety of DC sources
The 8600 series programmable DC electronic loads from B&K Precision includes three models with loads ranging from 150W to 250W, which can sink current up to 60A at wide voltage ranges up to 500V with fast transient operation speeds up to 25 kHz along with built-in battery and LED test mode functions. They are now on sale at Farnell element14.
DEMUX modules raise signal quality analyser performance
The MP1800A Signal Quality Analyser from Anritsu has been enhanced by the addition of the MP1861A MUX and MP1862A DEMUX modules. These will expand the functions of the MP1800A 32G BERT to support 56G and 64G BER measurements required for evaluating high-speed serial transmission devices, such as SERDES. When used in conjunction with the MP1800A, the two new modules support a generation of NRZ Data and BER measurements up to 64.2 Gbit/s.
T&M rental company steps up UK market presence
Electro Rent Europe is preparing to flex its muscles in the UK/Ireland test and measurement rental market. Ten years of sales growth has persuaded the company it needs a permanent base. “We are not impulsive,” smiles David Saeys, Managing Director of Electro Rent Europe. The company has moved into temporary offices in Staines – “once we had made up our minds we were keen to get started,” explains Saeys - while an age...
HDMI 2.0 compliance tests certified for video testers
New 6G TMDS protocol tests for the Rohde & Schwarz video testers have been successfully tested and officially certified by the HDMI Forum. This means that the VTC/VTE/VTS product family now includes additional tests that allow in-depth assessment of 4K/UltraHD consumer electronics equipment for compliance with the HDMI 2.0 interface standards.
Automated test conference is free to attend
Registration is now open for the Automated Test Summit 2015, hosted by National Instruments on Thursday July 2 at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre, Madejski Stadium, Reading, UK. This free-to-attend industry technical conference allows engineers and test managers to learn more about the top trends and technologies influencing automated test.
