NIWeek: Hardware additions meet big data challenges
Hardware and software additions to help engineers create smarter measurement and data management solutions have been introduced by National Instruments. The 4- and 8-slot CompactDAQ controllers featuring quad-core processing, a new 14-slot USB 3.0 CompactDAQ Chassis, DIAdem 2015 and DataFinder Server Edition 2015 were unveiled at NIWeek in Austin.
NIWeek: Wireless test system cuts manufacturing costs
The Wireless Test System (WTS) from NI is claimed to be a solution that dramatically lowers the cost of high-volume wireless manufacturing test. It says that the system is optimised for measurement speed and parallel test. The WTS combines multi-standard, multi- DUT and multi-port testing non the PXI platform.
Shaker speeds up car frame tests
Increased demand from automotive suppliers for quicker tests gto speed up their productivity has prompted EDAG Engineering to expand its automotive test capabilities with a new V8 shaker and guided head expander. EDAG is a specialist in assessing the effects of vibration on large structures, such as car frames.
MPI selects Scienscope’s X-Scope 6000 x-ray unit
Scienscope International is pleased to announce that Microboard Processing (MPI) has purchased a Scienscope X-Scope 6000 X-ray system. MPI, a 33-year old, woman-owned EMS provider, installed the unit at its Seymour, CT facility. The X-Scope 6000 is a digital, fully programmable CNC controlled X-ray inspection system that allows operators to programme inspection and measurement routines with point-and-click ease.
VME test module measures 1 Ohm to 3 MegOhms
The latest release in the Highland Technology line of VME test and measurement modules is the V410 RTD/resistance Input Module. The V410 features 16 independent channels configurable for 2-wire, 3-wire, and 4-wire resistance measurement and capable of measuring from 1 Ohm to 3 MegOhms.
Permeability measurement system solves problem of moisture
Water vapour is almost impossible to keep out of any enclosure; it permeates through materials and causes short circuits and electronical failures. To help solve this problem, Versaperm has introduced a specialist vapour permeability measurement system for electronic enclosures and components.
NI Week: System design software speeds code writing
Faster development time and more debugging tools feature in the LabVIEW 2015 system design software announced by National Instruments at its annual NIWeek exhibition and conference in Austin, Texas. The aim, as ever, is to help standardise the way LabVIEW users interact with almost any hardware through the reuse of the same code and engineering processes across systems, saving time and money as technology advances, requirements evolve, and time-t...
High current probe meets challenging applications
The HC500F high current probe, just released by Everett Charles Technologies (ECT), is rated at 150A DC and is designed for challenging applications in a broad range of industrial test including transportation, automotive, power grid, military and PCB test. The probe enhances the ECT high current spring probe line.
Firmware extends SSD testing to SCSI 12G and SATA 6G
Downloadable firmware that enables all MPT3000 systems to test Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) 12G and Serial ATA (SATA) 6G solid-state drives (SSDs) has been released by Advantest. The company says that it makes the tester the first true single-system solution for testing SAS, SATA and PCIe protocol SSDs.
Enhanced Ethernet tester supports GTP traffic simulation
An enhanced PC based Ethernet Tester dubbed PacketCheck has been launched by GL Communications. It now supports GTP Traffic Simulation. GTP, or GPRS Tunnelling Protocol are the methods for sending IP traffic in wireless networks such as GSM, UMTS, and LTE. The PC-based Ethernet / IP test tool offers BERT, Throughput, Delay, and Impairment testing functions.
