Unipolar Hall-effect switches operate from 3 to 28V
Designed to operate from 3.0 to 28V in consumer and industrial applications, Diodes Incorporated has introduced a family of high‑performance unipolar Hall-effect switches. The AH337x series of four devices features open-drain outputs in varying sensitivities from +30G to +115G while the high‑sensitivity AH3382 has an internal pull-up on its output.
Superconducting properties of 3D printed parts
3D printing is revolutionising many areas of manufacturing and science. In particular, 3D printing of metals has found novel applications in fields as diverse as customised medical implants, jet engine bearings and rapid prototyping for the automotive industry. While many techniques can be used for 3D printing with metals, most rely on computer-controlled melting or sintering of a metal alloy powder by a laser or electron beam.
Industry's fastest 5.7kVRMS isolated dual-channel gate driver
Texas Instruments has introduced the industry’s fastest 5.7kVRMS isolated dual-channel gate driver, the first of a new gate-driver family in TI’s isolation portfolio. The UCC21520’s flexible, universal compatibility enables its use as an isolated driver in low-side, high-side, high-side/low-side or half-bridge power management designs.
Stabilising battery recharge
It seems like fairly simple physics: If you construct a barrier that's stronger than the material trying to penetrate it, the barrier should work. That is the prevailing wisdom guiding the science of high-capacity rechargeable batteries that use reactive metals as the negative electrode: The membrane that separates the two electrodes should ideally be made of something that's at least as strong as the metal itself.
Product line offers complete power protection in a compact form factor
Para Systems has announced the release of the Minuteman Entrepid series of Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs). This new product line offers complete power protection designed to protect valuable equipment such as desktop computers, file servers, network devices, security systems, voice communications equipment, and home entertainment systems.
42W multiple output power adapters meet energy efficiency standards
It has been announced by TRUMPower that its TSA42 power adapter series are compliant with DOE level VI. Measuring 146x76x43mm, the TSA42 units are furnished with an IEC 320/C14 AC inlet and a power-on indicator. The series comes with 16 dual and triple output models offering combinations of +3.3, ±5, +5.1, +7.2, ±12, ±15 and ±24V at 23.82-42W output power.
120W DC/DC converters are suited for harsh environments
TDK has announced the 12, 24 and 28V output HQA DC/DC converters, with additional output voltage models to be added in the coming months. Packaged in a ruggedised quarter brick form factor, the encapsulated HQA120 models can deliver 120W output power and will operate over a 9 to 40V input range (50V for 1 second). These 89% efficient converters are suitable for use in COTS, communications and industrial equipment.
Lithium-ion battery and charger is explosion-proof
The IMHX exhibition will showcase Hoppecke Industrial Batteries' lithium-ion battery and charger. Visitors to Stand 11M47 will also be able to see Hoppecke's new explosion-proof battery and charger alongside one of the company's wide range of battery changing systems.
Maximum cooling flexibility on a standard footprint
The (M)WLC550 series of high efficiency, high power density AC/DC products have been released by EOS Power. The (M)WLC550 series for medical and commercial applications, has a power density exceeding 24W per cubic inch and offers unrivalled cooling and installation options for all devices, which require small size AC/DC power solutions.
Hyperfast diodes complement CoolMOS MOSFETs & discrete IGBTs
Infineon's new 650V Rapid 1 and Rapid 2 hyperfast diodes (IDP_, IDV_ and IDW_ series) are the perfect partners for CoolMOS™ MOSFETs or such discrete IGBTs as Infineon's Trenchstop™ 5. They offer outstanding value for money in AC/DC topologies like PFC, as well as for use as free-wheeling diodes in DC/DC topologies.
