Regulators offer 96% efficiency for battery-powered systems
Expanding the company's buck-boost family, Intersil has announced two buck-boost regulators claimed to offer best-in-class efficiency up to 96%. The ISL91127 and ISL91128 feature 4.5A switches and a compact footprint suited for providing system power or powering the peripherals in battery-operated devices. According to Intersil, the devices offer the industry’s lowest quiescent current of 30µA for superior light load efficiency.
Power supplies to power smart building infrastructure 24/7
Intelligently networked smart homes and smart offices often require control systems with many low power nodes, actuators and sensors that are 'always on'. RECOM’s robust and reliable 2 and 3W AC/DC power supplies are specially designed to power smart building infrastructure 24/7 by offering compact sizes for easy installation, very low standby power consumption (35mW) and full household (IEC/EN60335), CE (LVD+EMC+RoHS2) and industrial safet...
The link between power and performance
Today’s fast paced electronics market is driving the demand for innovation. This lies not only within the design of new products, meeting high efficiencies and unique specifications, but with fluent supply chain management. Of course! - If it wasn’t for smart logistics, the whole process would fall apart. Ideal Power believes that the secret to success within the industry is by delivering the whole process with power and performa...
Wireless power transmitter is Qi-certified
The bq501210 wireless power transmitter from Texas Instruments (TI) is now in stock at Mouser Electronics. The industry's first Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) v1.2 Qi-certified 15W wireless power transmitter, the bq501210 enables 84 percent system efficiency with significantly less thermal dissipation than traditional wireless power devices.
High voltage power supply offers lower power dissipation
The LTC3256, a highly integrated, high voltage low noise dual output power supply, which takes a single positive input and generates 5 and 3.3V step-down supplies with high efficiency and no inductors has been announced by Linear Technology. The device features a wide 5.5-38V input voltage range and includes independently enabled dual outputs: a 5V 100mA supply, and a 250mA 3.3V LDO regulator, for a total of 350mA available output current.
Transient voltage suppressors target tablets & laptops
The new VTVSxxASMF series of surface-mount transient voltage suppressor (TVS) protection diodes from Vishay are now available at Rutronik. They are the industry’s first to feature a 2% breakdown voltage tolerance. They are ideal for line transient voltage protection in space-constrained electronics, such as laptops, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, and external hard drives.
36W wall plug PSUs comply with latest energy standards
Expanding its range of wall mounted plug-in power supplies, XP Power has announced the VEL and VER series. These wall plug PSUs provide a wide range of power levels and meeting the energy efficiency and no load requirements of the new DoE Energy Efficiency Level VI and the EU CoC Tier 2 standards.
Lightning current arresters safely handle up to 50kA
The FLT-SEC-PLUS 264 type 1 lightning current arresters from Phoenix Contact are used in main supplies with 230/400V networks. Even in the event of high lightning currents up to 50kA per position, systems are protected and can continue running unaffected. Thanks to Safe Energy Control (SEC) technology, the protective devices feature high performance and durability.
1A buck DC/DCs offer ±1% accuracy for multi-rail systems
Linear Technology Corporation announces the LTC3374A, a highly integrated general-purpose power management solution for systems requiring multiple low voltage power supplies. The device can be configured to provide 2 to 8 independent regulated outputs with 15 possible output current configurations.
