Micro-power voltage detector monitors power supplies
Designed to support the supervisory circuits of microprocessors and microcontrollers, the APX803L micro-power voltage detector introduced by Diodes Incorporated allows accurate monitoring of voltage levels and will generate a reset signal whenever a supply rail falls below a defined threshold.
DC switching regulators maximise economy and performance
The addition of four new series to the family of non-isolated DC switching regulators has been announced by CUI’s Power Group. The next generation VX78‑500, VXO78‑500, VX78‑1000, and VXO78‑1000 series are extremely efficient, typically up to 96%, and balance maximising economy while delivering a high level of performance as a direct alternative to using linear regulators.
DC/DC converters provide up to 30W of output power
A range of 'Cool Power Technologies' 5V input (4.5-9V) 5V, 6A and 3.3V, 6A 30W 1×1 DC/DC converters have been introduced by Semiconductor Circuits. These open frame or optional encapsulated modules provide up to 30W of output power at an output voltage of 3.3V or 5VDC (12 and 15V versions will also be available – consult factory.) This module is suitable for industrial or distributed power architecture applications. These modules are ...
Up to 40W power provided in ultra-wide DC/DC converter
The introduction of a new 1x1 (AA) series that can deliver up to 40 watts of power has been announced by DATEL. This new line of high power-density DC/DC converters from DATEL is the preferred choice for military, industrial, distributed power architectures, telecommunications, and mobile applications.
PMBus communication interface available for modular power supplies
A standby/signal option has been announced by TDK Corporation, with a PMBus communications interface for the QM series of 700-1500W modular AC/DC power supplies. The PMBus (Power Management Bus) is an open standard digital power management protocol, allowing communication between devices. The QM series is the latest product in a 37-year legacy of modular power supplies, featuring very low audible noise and full MOPPs medical isolation.
Blurring the lines between OEM and aftermarket parts
Branded replacement parts manufacturers are increasingly ‘acting’ like OEMs in approach to quality control, utilisation of sophisticated measurement systems and adoption of lean manufacturing techniques to produce consistent, high-quality parts. Over the past few decades, the acceptance of replacement parts suppliers for engines used in the power generation market has evolved significantly. Today, the consistent quality, availabi...
Zero-drift op amp consumes 1.3μA on a 1.8V supply
Drawing just 1.3µA typ (2µA max) on a 1.8V supply, Analog Devices, which recently acquired Linear Technology, has announced the LTC2063 zero-drift op amp. This micropower amplifier maintains uncompromised precision: maximum input offset voltage is 5µV at 25°C, maximum drift is 0.06µV/°C from –40 to 125°C. Maximum input bias current is 15pA at 25°C, and 100pA from -40°C to 125°C.
Trio of panel-mount power supplies for electrical appliances
Delta Electronics’ PMH series of panel-mount power supplies is now available from Luso. The PMH series offers units with three distinct power ratings of 50, 100 and 200W, specifically designed for electrical appliances such as coffee machines, vending machines and general use in households.
Regulated high voltage DC power supplies boast fast response
A new range of programmable, DC regulated power supplies have been announced by Glassman Europe, the GX Series, its most powerful to date. The GX Series is a highly-specified family of 25-200kW fast response, air insulated power supplies, boasting tight regulation combined with low ripple and noise.
Tap-off box launched for high-rise domestic power distribution
A new tap-off box specifically designed to meet the space-saving demands of urban high-rise developments has been launched by Legrand, UK and Ireland. Intended for use when multiple cut-out fuses are required, to enable sub circuits to be isolated without having to fully isolate the entire unit, the pre-configured fuse board is housed within a tap-off box that plugs straight onto the rising main busbar system.
