Power management IC designed for automotive control units
A new power management IC has been announced by Allegro MicroSystems, which integrates a buck or buck/boost pre-regulator, four LDOs, and four floating gate drivers. The pre-regulator uses a buck or buck/boost topology to efficiently convert automotive battery voltages into a tightly regulated intermediate voltage complete with control, diagnostics, and protections.
Analogue IC market to grow strongly in next five years
According to IC Insights’ new 2018 McClean Report, which becomes available this month, sales of analogue ICs are expected to show the strongest growth rate among major integrated circuit market categories during the next five years. The McClean Report forecasts that revenues for analogue products - including both general purpose and application-specific devices - will increase by a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.6% t...
Class-D audio amplifier demonstrates low idle power
This demo from Texas Instruments features the TAS5825M evaluation module connected to two speakers inside of a custom form factor case designed to look like a portable speaker.
High gain transducers for medical ultrasonic applications
With a new package developed and supplied by CeramTec, manufacturers of medical devices can now incorporate high gain transducers into new products faster and more cost-effectively. Combining a horned transducer and a remote drive electronics board, the kit streamlines the development process for new devices, facilitating shorter lead times for ultrasonic applications.
Murata capacitor designed for high voltage industrial applications
Murata has announced the DE1 Type RB series of X1 class leaded ceramic safety capacitors. Suitable for use in high voltage industrial applications such as 3-phase power supplies or inverters driving 3-phase motors, the series is rated at 760VAC (RMS) for X1 class use. The DE1 complies with the internationally recognised standards IEC 60384-14, UL60384-14 and EN60384-14 for X1 / Y1 class capacitors used in EMI suppression circuits.
