Implementation of security for IoT edge devices accelerated
Synopsys and Intrinsic-ID have announced the integration of Intrinsic-ID's PUF technology with Synopsys' DesignWare ARC EM Processors with SecureShield technology to enable efficient implementation of security functions such as authentication and device cloning prevention for low-power IoT edge devices.
TLS record processing accelerated for IoT communication
Synopsys has announced a collaboration with Cypherbridge Systems to optimise Cypherbridge's uSS software development kit (SDK) for the Synopsys DesignWare SSL/TLS/DTLS Security Protocol Accelerator (SPAcc). The joint solution enables the offload of cryptographic functions to dedicated hardware, giving system architects the ability to reallocate the CPU to other functions or use a smaller CPU.
OrCAD Capture delivers support of Intel Schematic Connectivity Format
Cadence Design Systems has announced that OrCAD Capture now provides export capability for Intel Schematic Connectivity Format (ISCF), targeted at automating Intel-based design reviews. ISCF was developed by Intel to streamline the collaboration process with its customers. Intel worked with Cadence to develop a direct ISCF generation capability in OrCAD Capture to make this collaboration process simpler and more efficient.
IAR Embedded Workbench supports Renesas Graphics Library
IAR Systems announces that the Renesas Graphics Library can be generated with the development toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench for RH850 and a proof of concept has been done successfully. The extended library support applies to the RH850/D1L and RH850/D1M Groups.
Code quality ensured for developers working with automotive MCUs
IAR Systems announces that its static code analysis tool C-STAT is now available in the C/C++ compiler and debugger toolchain IAR Embedded Workbench for Renesas Electronics’ RH850 Family of automotive MCUs. The tool will be showcased at embedded world 2016, February 23-25th, Nuremberg, Germany, in IAR Systems’ booth 4-216.
Open-source printer can be used for biomaterials fabrication
Rice University bioengineering researchers have modified a commercial-grade CO2 laser cutter to create OpenSLS, an open-source, selective laser sintering platform that can print intricate 3-D objects from powdered plastics and biomaterials. The system costs at least 40 times less than its commercial counterparts and allows researchers to work with their own specialised powdered materials.
Turnkey solutions streamline mobile security
Mobile security is poised for growth as global mobile data traffic from smartphones is expected to increase ten-fold between 2014 and 2020. To provide the market with turnkey mobile security solutions, Infineon Technologies has introduced OPTIGA Mobile. The brand extends Infineon’s OPTIGA range of embedded security solutions with dedicated services around mobile security. OPTIGA Mobile helps mobile device manufacturers and OS providers to i...
