Reference designs simplify automotive infotainment
Making it easier for designers to learn and implement MOST technology in automotive infotainment systems, Microchip has introduced the MOST ToGo Reference Designs. These reference designs enable designers to leverage Microchip’s extensive experience of the vast MOST specifications, allowing them to focus on their application software development.
Laird's WLAN antennas improve infrastructure in Japan
Laird has announced that two of its WLAN antennas have been used by a Japanese electronics manufacturer to improve infrastructure locally. The PDM24519, a WLAN 3-port MIMO antenna, is part of a WiFi system installed in the Shinjuku downtown area, while the OC24527, a WLAN OMNI antenna, is part of a tsunami monitoring system installed along the pacific coast line.
Host connector series performs at 32Gbps per channel
To meet the demand for a faster form factor signal transmission interface, Yamaichi Electronics has introduced a series of 32Gbps host connectors. The CN120-038 series Quad Small Form-factor Pluggable plus (eQSFP+) host connector and its cage accessories are 100% footprint compatible with existing 10 and 25Gbps QSFP standards.
Mini module is both cost and energy efficient
A mini module, claimed to be both cost and energy efficient and thus suitable for industrial control automation, medical equipment, gaming machine, telecomms, POS, kiosk and transportation applications, has been released by DFI. The BT9A3 is powered by the Intel Atom processor E3800 SoC product family, which is primarily aimed at 24 hour operating intelligent systems. These SoCs range from single core, dual core and quad core.
Panel PC is low power consuming and high performing
A panel PC, claimed to be low-power consuming and high performing, has been launched by Axiomtek. The GOT3177T-834 is a 17" SXGA, fanless, multi-touch panel computer powered by Intel Bay Trail-D Celeron processor. At 2.0GHz, the PC can manage multiple tasks or multi-threaded applications. The panel also has a SSE4.1 and SSE4.2 instructions and virtualisation feature, which enhances the performance of virtualised programs.
Infrared receivers target low-speed data transmission
Rutronik is marketing two new miniaturised infrared receivers (IR) TSDP34138/56 and TSDP34338/56 from Vishay that are designed specifically for low-speed data transmission. They are optimised for low-complexity, low-cost signalling in metering, sensor, automation and gaming applications.
