Cables/Connecting
Achieve reliable data transmission in railway applications
A high-performance coaxial connector, the Han Coax ETCS, has been introduced by HARTING. Designed for railway and harsh industrial applications, the connector's crimp flange incorporates an additional crimp barrel. This secures the screening braid permanently with high mechanical and electrical integrity, while also providing strain relief for the cable.
ITT upgrades DSB connectors to keep railcars running
At 2014 InnoTrans, ITT will announce the completion of a connector upgrade project with DSB (Danish Railways). The ITT Veam and ITT Cannon blue-generation FRCIR series and CA Bayonet connectors were used to ensure the safety and reliability of DSB railcars.
TPU materials extend the life of industrial cables
For use in offshore, oil, gas and mining wire and cable applications, two UV protected grades of TPUs (Thermoplastic Polyurethanes) have been released by Huntsman. The IROGRAN TPU materials, which are polyether-based, are designed for encasing the cables of heavy-duty pieces of equipment. Such cables function in harsh, abrasive and outdoor environments, and are exposed to the elements.
Circular connectors target heavy equipment vehicles
Expanding the company's 9-way AT circular series receptacle line, Amphenol has added a model with a smaller flange that can be fitted to all heavy equipment vehicles. These round receptacles are suitable for use as a diagnostic connector in demanding applications found on construction and farm equipment and in heavy-duty trucks.
Remote I/O industrial modules cut cabinet size
The latest products to swell the Conrad Business Supplies industrial automation portfolio are Weidmüller’s u-remote HD high-density remote I/O modules. The modules double the interconnect density of the compact u-remote connectivity system for connecting sensors and actuators to a PLC or central controller.
Contact is cost-effective alternative to turned PCB sockets
Expanding the company's EZ-BoardWare PCB socket portfolio, Harwin has added a contact accommodating 0.8-1.5mm diameter mating pins. Suited for high volume applications, the EZ-Board sockets are a cost-effective alternative to turned PCB sockets. The components are supplied in industry-standard tape & reel packaging, allowing them to be automatically placed to minimise cost.
Accelerate your time-to-market for USB 3.1 Type-C connectors
Enabling manufacturers to immediately develop USB 3.1 Type-C connectors and quickly get them to market, Lattice Semiconductor has introduced a USB 3.1 Type-C power delivery solution. It addresses all the critical power-related functions required by the USB 3.1 Type-C specification, which defines very small jacks suited to mobile devices.
AVX publishes interactive connector selector guide
Offering a comprehensive overview of the company's 46 innovative industrial connector solutions,AVX has published an interactive 'Industrial Connector Selector Guide'. The guide is organised by application (wire-to-board, board-to-board, wire-to-wire and specialty) and embeds links to application specific product catalogues and individual series datasheets.
2.54mm un-shrouded headers support 50 mating cycles
Capable of supporting a wide variety of board-to-board applications, the EconoStik 2.54mm range of un-shrouded headers has been introduced by FCI. The headers are available in single-row and double-row with vertical through-hole, right-angle through-hole and vertical SMT versions and pin counts up to 72 positions.
Two-part power elements are discounted in online shop
The PowerTwo Power Elements, designed for screw-type technologies on circuit boards, are now available in Würth Elektronik's Original Power Elements Online Shop. The two-part power elements are press-fitted rather than soldered and can, therefore, be used at high temperatures. With the elements, stable connection and mounting on the circuit board is enabled without any additional stress.
