Mixed layout D-Sub connectors offer GP quality grade
PROVERTHA has released a series of mixed layout D-Sub connectors with green isolation bodies and a new contact coating offering GP quality grade. The contact coating was optimised in such a way that the manufacturing costs are significantly reduced, while the quality grade G2 (200 mating cycles) is obtained. PROVERTHA will hand down this cost advantage to its clients.
MIL-SPEC D-sub connectors
TE Connectivity has announced that its AMPLIMITE IP67 D-subminiature connectors meet IP67 performance levels. Designed to meet MIL-DTL-24308 specifications, the connectors have an environmental sealing that has been successfully tested at a submerged depth of one meter and have water and dust ingress protection to IP67.
Braid system is 50% lighter than traditional copper braids
The Raychem INSTALITE lightweight braid system, which offers up to 50% weight savings over traditional copper braids, has been introduced by TE Connectivity. Made from a high-performance, nickel-plated copper alloy, the RoHS-compliant pull-on braid provides better low-frequency performance than plated fibres or microfilaments.
One-circuit terminal connectors minimise shadowing effects
Molex has introduced the TermiMate one-circuit terminal-style connector system. Designed to minimise the shadowing effect in LED lights and TV backlighting applications, the ultra-low profile TermiMate coplanar board-to-board and wire-to-board connector reduces component and assembly costs for manufacturers.
Cable assemblies allow non-IP67 cables to be mounted to panels
Amphenol RF is pleased to introduce improved designs of the company's existing AMC to SMA cable assemblies. Design improvements were made to the SMA bulkhead mounting connectors allowing the non-IP67 cables to be mounted to panels with a maximum thickness of 3.2mm. Cables with IP67 connectors are suitable for panels with a maximum thickness of 3.2mm. Both standard polarity and reverse polarity options are available.
MMF transceiver offers low-cost 40G data centre Ethernet
Avago has announced a 40G BiDirectional (BiDi) MultiMode Fibre (MMF) QSFP+ transceiver module, the AFBR-79EBPZ, designed for highspeed data centre interconnect and networking applications. Based on 2x20G BiDi optics, the module enables 40GbE links on existing installed LC duplex multimode fibre of 10G network, providing a cost-effective upgrade path to 40G Ethernet in the data centre.
Compact 5W wall plug adapters meet DOE Level VI standard
CUI has announced a line of ultra-compact 5W wall plug adapters for the US, Japanese and European markets featuring an integrated USB connector. The SWI5-5-N-I38 and SWI5-5-E-I38 are designed to meet the stringent average efficiency and no load power requirements mandated by the US Department of Energy (DOE) set to go into effect on February 10, 2016.
Qseven standard connector offered with long term availability
The Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies (SGET) highly values the long term availability of its standards and the related key components. With regard to Qseven, this especially concerns the 230-pin MXM2 system connector. This was initially designed to work as a cost-effective board-to-board connector for consumer graphics cards and has come close to its end of life in this function.
Connectors range from 3.3 to 10.16mm in pitch
Designed for use in industrial power supplies and other power-demanding applications such as servers, medical devices and home electronics, the EnerBee family of connectors has been introduced by Hirose.
Low profile connector handles harsh environments
The new Griplet connector from FCI is now available in Europe at TTI. Griplet provides a robust solution for miniature IDC Wire-to-Board connections and has a low profile and compact design for easy installation where space is tight. It is designed for a stackable pitch up to twelve positions, with common housings available to protect and secure terminated components.
