Cables/Connecting
VNA test cables mitigate phase change over 75,000 flexure cycles
Pasternack releases of a line of ruggedised phase stable VNA test cables operating up to 40GHz depending on the series. These VNA test cables are specially designed to withstand the rigors of test lab use and production testing for 50Ω communications systems.
Connectors optimised for use with low loss cables
Amphenol RF is pleased to introduce the improved SMA and N-Type coaxial connectors that have been optimised for low loss cables. Low loss cables incorporate additional shielding in the form of a bonded foil conductor, which helps to improve grounding. Low loss cables and the newly optimized connectors are matched to 50Ω impedance, allowing for maximum and reliable signal transfer.
Connectors stay waterproofed when disconnected
An innovative series of IP68 connectors from Intelliconnect which remain waterproof even when they are disconnected has been introduced by Rapid Electronics. There is no shortage of waterproof connectors available on the market, yet most have to be mated in order to be fully waterproof as the casing itself acts as the seal.
A long-life option for LCD to PCB connections
Hailed as a low-cost, long-life option for LCD to PCB connections or as a board to board connector where space is limited, the 5002 series silver Zebra connector has been introduced by Fujipoly. This connector delivers a current carrying capacity up to 300mA per square 25.8064mm (square 0.040”) and exhibits a contact resistance of less than 500mΩ.
Cable assemblies, connectors meet new USB standard
A range of competitively priced cable assemblies and connectors supporting the convenient new USB Type-C standard have been added to the RS Components own brand products portfolio. USB Type-C (USB-C) defines a universal reversible-plug connector for use on all devices, supporting single-cable multi-function connectivity for data at USB3.1 speeds and beyond, as well as charging, DC power supply, and audio/video up to 4K Ultra High Definition...
Advanced monitoring connector meets rising non-industrial demand
In response to an increased market demand for embedded vision, an increased use in robotics and a rising demand for non-industrial applications, ODU has announced its advanced monitoring connector solutions for HD applications to the European, US and Japanese markets.
Connectors stand up to harsh environments
Now available in Europe through TTI is the recently extended VAD (Value Added Assembly and Connector Solutions) range of PT/451 series connectors from Amphenol Socapex with Black Zinc Nickel Plating. They are designed for use in harsh environments, e.g. military ground vehicles, marine equipment, oil & gas, as well as industrial outdoor applications.
IDC terminals provide high contact reliability
ERNI Electronics expands its offering of IDC terminals, adding variants for stranded wires (AWG24/7 and AWG26/7) to the existing offering for solid wires AWG24/1 and AWG22/7 (stranded wires). Wires with a maximum diameter of 1.1mm (including isolation) can now be handled. The IDC terminals and the current AWG22 variants are also now available with extended colour options.
Fibre optic assemblies split or combine light signals
A range of ‘Spider’ fibre optic cable assemblies which can both split an optical signal from a single source into several outputs as well as combine multiple inputs onto a single output fibre has been introduced by OMC. This can be useful for sensor applications and precise triggering, among other applications.
Interconnection system overcomes harsh environments
The ARISO Contactless Connectivity platform from TE Connectivity is a hybrid interconnection system that reliably delivers power, data and signal over short distances, even in harsh environment applications. It is in stock at Farnell element 14. This platform helps overcome traditional connector restrictions and design constraints because no mechanical contact is required, enabling connectivity where connections were not possible before.
