L-coded M12 meets Industry 4.0’s ‘appetite for energy’
Meeting the demand created by energy-hungry Industry 4.0 applications in the field, HARTING has announced the launch of the HARTING M12 Power. This connector offers sufficient power carrying capabilities and at the same time it boasts a smaller design footprint, allowing users to save on both space and number of interfaces.
RF connectors are corrosion resistant & waterproof
Suitable for use in harsh environments such as marine, naval, chemical, oil and gas industries, the Pisces waterproof connector range has been introduced by Intelliconnect. Conventional RF connectors are manufactured from brass and finished with nickel plating or passivated stainless steel. Such finishes are subject to minor degrading in harsh environments and can lead to reducing the connector’s performance over time.
Mill-Max introduces wire crimp and solder cup receptacles
Expanding its selection of wire termination products, Mill-Max has announced three new wire crimp receptacles and two solder cup receptacles. The three wire crimp receptacles can accommodate wires from 22-26 AWG and accept mating pins in the popular 0.63mm (0.025”) to 1.02mm (0.040”) range.
PIM solution for infrastructural data connections
In 2013 a strategic alliance was formed between the Biomedical and Communications (BiMEC) research group at London South Bank University and Hughes Electronics. Its aim was to develop innovative and disruptive technologies to combat Passive InterModulation (PIM) in cellular networks. This research has resulted in a white paper shedding new light on the effects of PIM and a new connection system designed specifically to help reduce PIM - the WaveW...
New facility manufactures connectors and cable assemblies
A division of Amphenol Industrial Products Group, Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO), has recently opened Amphenol EEC. This new facility, centrally located in Chicago, Illinois, manufactures connectors and cable assemblies that meet the stringent requirements of the Buy America programme.
Future-proof cabling for Industry 4.0 factory upgrades
HARTING has announced the latest developments in its support and advocacy for the ‘Industry 4.0’ initiative. This rapidly growing movement is driving the trend towards the so-called ‘Smart Factory’ which is enabled by the connection of the real and virtual world with sensors and actuators interfacing to the cloud via the internet.
SMA end launch connectors provide excellent VSWR performance
Amphenol RF has announced a series of high frequency SMA end launch connectors, offering exceptional VSWR performance up to 26.5GHz. Featuring an optimised end launch design with either through-hole legs or traditional slide-on mounting legs, these connectors are suitable as a PCB connector solution for high frequency applications.
PSMP cable plugs designed for 0.141 & 0.86" diameter cables
Amphenol RF announces an expansion to its PSMP interface. Building upon the flexibility of PSMP board-to-board designs, four new PSMP cable connectors are now available. These connectors are designed for 0.141 and 0.86" diameter semi-rigid and conformable cables, providing engineers with choices beyond the current board to board options for this versatile interface.
Ultra-low-loss coaxial microwave cable eliminates “phase knee”
Molex has introduced a Temp-Flex foam-core ultra-low-loss coaxial microwave cable, which combines space savings with an effective dielectric that eliminates “phase knee” and provides ease of termination. It also achieves 80% Velocity Of Propagation (VOP) loss characteristics, which produces more reliable signal performance and lower loss characteristics than air-enhanced PTFE cable.
UK’s 1st maintenance-free in line junction box has tool-less assembly
Hylec-APL has announced its new Debox 2 SL in-line cable junction box which can be assembled in a few seconds, against several minutes for a traditional junction box.
