Phihong USA has announced that one of its best selling units, a 15W wall plug adapter with interchangeable AC clips, is now compliant for Level V efficiency marking. Level V is required for devices to gain CE compliance for sale in Europe. The series, designated the PSA15R-V, is available in 5V, 6V, 7.5V, 9V, 12V, 15V, 24V and 48V DC outputs for a variety of applications including peripherals, wireless communications, networking and gaming equipment.
In a continued expansion of Phihong's Level V adapter offerings, the popular 15W R-series adapter has received the necessary upgrades to meet and exceed today's most stringent efficiency testing regulations, said Keith Hopwood, vice president of marketing for Phihong USA.

The double-insulated, Class B EMI power adapter has over-voltage, short-circuit and over-current protections as standard features and has a no-load power draw of less than 0.3W. Additionally, the PSA15R-V series operates with more than 80% average efficiency and bears safety approvals from C-Tick, SAA, cUL/UL and CE.

AC clips are available for Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Europe, Korea, India, the United Kingdom and the United States. A clip that has an IEC320 C8 input is also available to convert the wall plug into a desktop-style adapter able to be powered by a two-wire line cord. All AC clips are sold separately.

The PSA15R-V measures 71.6mm x 50mm x 31mm and weighs 151g. The standard DC cable measures 1.5m and is terminated with a standard 5.5mm x 2.1mm straight center positive barrel. For users desiring an alternative DC tip, Phihong offers an in-house service to change DC tips with no minimum order quantity.
