Two isolated DC/DC converter familes, designated the PQMC3-S and PQM3-M Series, have been announced by CUI. The converters increase total efficiency across the entire load curve and deliver improved performance at light and no loads. The coverters have been designed for battery-powered applications where power draw under these conditions are a concern.

Both series are rated at 3W, with the PQMC3-S Series available with input ranges of 4.5~9, 9~18, 18~36, or 36~75 Vdc. The PQM3-M Series offers input ranges of 9~18, 18~36, or 36~75 Vdc. Both converter series operate with a temperature range of -40°C to + 85°C at 100% load, which enable the converters to work in harsh environments.

Both families deliver single output voltages of 5, 12, or 15 Vdc, while the SIP version PQMC3-S is available in dual output voltages of ±5, ±12, or ±15 Vdc. Outputs are fully regulated to within ±0.2% (typ.) for all line and load conditions, whilst input to output isolation of 1,500 Vdc is provided across the range of models. Short circuit and over current protection is included, with both coverter series meeting CISPR22/EN55022 Class B standards with limited external components.

The PQMC3-S Series is housed in a compact 8 pin SIP package measuring 22 mm x 9.5 mm x 12 mm and the PQM3-M series is housed in a 16 pin SMT package measuring 23.86mm x 13.70 mm x 7.50mm.

The PQMC3-S and PQM3-M Series are available now through distribution starting at $11.42 for 100 pieces.
