Cypress Japan Names Kazuyoshi Yamada Vice President of Japan Sales
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. today announced that semiconductor industry veteran, Kazuyoshi “Kazu” Yamada, has been named Country Manager of Cypress Japan, reporting to Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales, Ben Lee. He replaces Hitoshi Yoshizawa, who retires after a distinguished career of 40 years, the last four as Cypress Japan Country Manager.

Sumitomo Chemical Company is filing patents this year on its advances in sodium ion rechargeable batteries that could find their way into vehicles. The present invention, even when using a carbonaceous material as a negative electrode active material, can prevent the reduction in over-discharging cycle length of the battery, and is useful particularly as a secondary battery.

In the effort to enhance the advanced metal-high-k gate stack for next-generation logic devices, imec successfully demonstrated higher-k dielectric with Replacement Metal Gate (Metal-Gate-Last) transistors that achieved 200x-1000x reduction in gate leakage relative to leading-edge logic devices in the industry with HfO2 high-k gate dielectric.
