Anders Electronics has expanded its family of high-performance automotive grade, colour TFT displays with built-in LED backlights. Now available in screen sizes of 3.5-inch, 4.3-inch, 6.5-inch, 7-inch and 8-inch, the new displays are guaranteed to be available for ten years, in line with the long-term commitments demanded by Tier 1 car manufacturers.
The automotive range is specifically designed and manufactured under strict guidelines and processes which are usually reserved for the custom designed LCD modules applied in automotive products. This gives designers a wider choice when selecting displays required to meet the challenges posed by harsh environmental conditions.

The new displays are framed in rugged metal bezels and feature a metal plate backer that minimises the risk of exposure to electromagnetic interference (EMI). A built-in NTC temperature sensor ensures constant readability by allowing display contrast to be controlled automatically via the built-in temperature compensation circuit.

Each display combines ruggedness with optical excellence delivering all that is visually desirable in a display including clarity, high contrast ratio and luminance, wide viewing cone, outstanding colour saturation and fast response time.

As well as automotive applications such as main instrument cluster, driver information system, navigation, rear view camera displays and infotainment, the Anders automotive range can also be considered for military designs, medical devices and industrial equipment.

Designers can speed the product development and prototyping process by using the Anders Electronics “Spider” TFT evaluation platform. This evaluation platform provides an intelligent interface between the display and the embedded system to allow designers to quickly and easily initialise and configure key display parameters and to evaluate display performance in different operating scenarios.
