IDE allows speedy configuration of complex systems
Synapticon is to present what it calls a ‘revolution in the development process of embedded systems’ at this year's Embedded World, stand 190, hall 5. The company will show OBLAC 1.0, its first time web‐based development environment for configuring, programming, and maintenance of embedded systems. With OBLAC 1.0, users can edit handy, fast and inexpensive complex development projects and realise virtually at their fingertips.
Certifications for ISO26262 & IEC61508-compliant software
Texas Instruments has announced that its SafeTI functional safety software development process is now certified as suitable for development of ISO-26262 and IEC-61508 compliant software components. TI’s process was assessed by TÜV NORD, an internationally recognised and accredited independent assessor of compliance to quality and safety standards.
Rittal updates thermal calculation software
Rittal’s Therm 6.3 software simplifies the often time-consuming and complicated calculation of enclosure cooling and heating requirements. Simply input the dimensions and position of your panel, the heat loss of the equipment installed, the ambient temperature, your preferred internal temperature and details of the available power supply. Then select a cooling or heating solution specific to your project requirements.
PSU design tool is now accessible as a cloud-based app
A PSU design tool, developed by Power Integrations, is now accessible as a cloud-based app. Previously, designers could only download the PI Expert Suite to a local PC or workstation. The cloud-based app allows designers to access the design tool from any internet browser, ensuring that they are using the most up-to-date version.
Software-design support streamlines safety certification
A software-design support package, which streamlines certification of safety-critical systems featuring STM32 MCUs, has been developed by STMicroelectronics and YOGITECH. Together, the companies provide a set of STM32 safety manuals to assist application design, as well as Software Test Libraries (fRSTL) certified according to the IEC61508:2010 functional-safety standard.
System analysis & real-time tracing with Serial Wire Viewer
ARM Cortex MCUs continue to push the price/performance ratio to unprecedented levels. In addition, the inclusion of a subset of the CoreSight debug architecture in these device families improves debugging capabilities substantially without incurring excessive cost. It is now possible to have greater visibility into the dynamics of complex real-time embedded applications than ever before.
Perform verification tasks twice as fast
To speed up verification, silicon IP provider M31 Technology has utilised Cadence’s Verification IP (VIP) for PCIe 2.0. The VIP allows designers to perform verification tasks at more than twice the speed of a manual testbench. To simplify pre-silicon compliance verification, M31 Technology has also utilised Cadence’s TripleCheck IP Validator, which features a test suite, coverage model and verification plan.
Tool bridges gap between electrical & mechanical workflows
A PCB design tool, developed to enhance the workflow collaboration between electrical and mechanical designers, has been released by Altium. Developed to address the communication and file compatibility issues experienced by electrical and mechanical design teams, PCBWorks provides a set of collaboration tools to integrate design data with SolidWorks mechanical design software.
Software suite translates 3D CAD data
The Publish3D-Document software suite, which enables the translation of 3D CAD data from within CATIA V5, NX, CREO and JT applications into a readable PDF with an interactive 3D product image embedded within the document, has been introduced by Theorem Solutions.
Generator uses matrix calculations to provide high-quality code
Control algorithms using state-space representation for highly complex applications, such as ADAS, can be modeled efficiently with dSPACE's production code generator TargetLink version 4.0, which provides matrix calculations. These complex control algorithms with matrix calculations can be converted into high-quality production C code, and the resulting auto-generated code is easy to integrate with legacy software.
