Chips chosen for Nissan LEAF automated parking system

Supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, Renesas Electronics, has announced that its R-Car system-on-chip (SoC) for car infotainment and advanced driving assistant systems (ADAS) as well as its RH850 automotive control microcontroller (MCU) have been adopted by Nissan for the ProPILOT Park, a full-fledged automated-parking system, of its new LEAF, Nissan’s new 100% electric vehicle which debuted on 6th September 2017.

CMOS image sensor for 4K network security cameras

Supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, Renesas Electronics, has announced a new high-sensitivity, high-resolution 8.48 megapixel (MP) CMOS image sensor (RAA462113FYL) that supports 4K video cameras. In conjunction with the existing Renesas 2.12 MP product that is already in mass production, Renesas will be providing full-scale sales support for its high-end CMOS image sensor for network security cameras.

SoC accelerates development of in-vehicle infotainment apps

  Supplier of advanced semiconductor solutions, Renesas Electronics, has started volume shipment of its first R-Car system-on-chip (SoC) incorporating Automotive Grade Linux (AGL)-based software. AGL is a cross-industry effort to develop a fully open software stack for the connected car. Renesas considers AGL as an essential step to expand the base of software developers.

Flash programming support for microcontrollers

In-circuit-programming support for Renesas RL78 microcontrollers has been announced by SEGGER. Production and service teams, which need to handle RL78-based devices, can now use the fast flash programmers created by SEGGER. RL78 support has been added to the widely-used Flasher PRO and Flasher Portable PLUS. These Flasher units now also include support for RL78 devices without any additional licensing required.

Cadence Perspec system Verifier accelerates IoT design

Cadence Design Systems has announced that Renesas has used the Cadence Perspec System Verifier to verify its new micro-controller unit (MCU) design for internet of things (IoT) applications.
