Gigabit interfaces to be used with Han-Modular connector range
HARTING has expanded its Han-Modular connector family with the addition of two shielded Cat 6A data modules. These combine high mating-cycle (HMC) capability with operation at data rates in the Gigabit Ethernet range. The introduction of the new modules is in response to the increasing modularisation of industrial facilities, which is leading to a growing demand for high mating-cycle connectors capable of handling high-speed data in addition...
UK base helps connector company’s growth
Continuing to grow and expand into new markets, Cliff Electronics have its flexible UK-based design and manufacturing hub to thank. The company has supplied quality connectors to OEMs and system integrators around the world. Markets served include industrial, building automation, video installations, medical, instrumentation, test and measurement, broadcast and professional audio the company is well placed to fulfill new demands in the marke...
Smaller and lighter connectors for harsh environments
There was an evolution of Harwin’s Gecko 1.25mm pitch connector series on show at the recent electronica exhibition in Munich. The Gecko (G125 series) connectors are low profile, dual row cable-to-board and board-to-board interconnects which save PCB real estate and weight in high reliability applications. Developed to meet customer demand, the new Gecko Screw-Lok Series features ruggedised screw fixings for increased security and can ...
10W medical grade wall-plug adapter with interchangeable plugs
Phihong has released a new 10W medical grade wall-plug adapter approved for use in minimally invasive, bodily floating (Type BF) medical applied parts that have conductive, medium-term, or long-term contact with patients. Designated the PMA10R-050AW, Phihong’s new 10W medical wall-plug adapter is rated for 115 to 230VAC input and 5VDC output, and is a limited power source (LPS) with output leakage of <100μA at 264VAC/50Hz.
Wireless power coils enable plug-free charging
The launch of PowerLife standard and custom wireless power coils with NuCurrent technology for plug-free device charging was announced by Molex at electronica. The integrated wireless power coils feature a thin design and high power transfer efficiency (Q-factor).
RF connector solutions meet next-gen mobile network needs
A range of RF connector solutions has been introduced by Molex, including the 4.3-10 RF Connector System and Cable Assemblies that offers high-performance signal transmission with low Passive InterModulation (PIM), 100% data traceability and less torque.
Silver flexible circuits create narrow traces on PET
The capability to print high-performing Silver Flexible Circuits on economical polyester substrates with traces as narrow as 0.13mm (.005”) and spacing as small as 0.13mm (.005”) has been developed by Molex. The process creates a viable, cost-effective alternative to traditional flexible circuits, etched copper traces on polyimide and PCBs.
Expansion of the buck-boost battery charger family
Intersil introduced two new USB-C buck-boost battery chargers that support bidirectional power delivery in ultrabooks, tablets, power banks and other mobile products. The single-chip ISL9238 and ISL9238A battery chargers replace competitive two-chip solutions to reduce customer BOM costs by up to 40%. Both ICs employ Intersil’s patented R3 modulation technology to extend battery life and deliver acoustic noise-free operation, superior light...
Latest version 2mm pitch spring-loaded connectors
Mill-Max has added a through-hole version of 2mm pitch spring-loaded connectors to complement the series' surface mount version. As always, real estate is at a premium in electronic packaging with designers demanding tighter pitch interconnects that deliver high quality performance. These spring-loaded connectors (SLC's) are an appealing option combining both durability and space saving qualities.
Common core plug offers quick and tool-less connection
The RJ45 product family from TE Connectivity (TE) has been extended with an RJ45 Cat 6A plug that can be terminated easily, quickly and without tools with Cat 6A cables, saving time in the field. This TE plug is capable of terminating the most commonly used wire variant Cat 6A and can handle 10Gbps rates, supporting bandwidths of up to 500 MHz.
