Designed for use in the standard ISM/SRD band of 433MHz, Shortlink's SL4300-B1 transceiver module offers customers a quick and easy way to integrate powerful wireless functionality at low cost. Providing a good fit with many applications, the transceiver features excellent performance and functionality. The SL4300-B1 offers risk free, quick time to market and low development costs and comprises a ready made module with CE marking.
The SL4300-B1 is certified for license-free operation under European regulations, and its embedded protocol simplifies data exchange and configuration for radio communication, and thus helps ensure that the configured module complies with radio regulations.

Sizing up at just 12.7x25.4x3.2mm, the transceiver's small form factor enables slim and compact product design. The SL4300-B1 is supplied for use with an external antenna.

The SL4300-B1 is a single channel transceiver and offers a maximum data rate of 38.4kbps and a versatile maximum output power of 10dBm. The part's receiver class (EN 300 220-1) is '2', and its transmitter power class is '8'. When used in a line of sight environment a range of 1 to 2km is easily achievable.

Long battery life in portable products is assured thanks to a low-power, discrete RF design. Operating from a supply of 2.2 to 3.6V, the transceiver's current consumption in sleep mode is an incredibly low 1uA. The module is frequency and temperature calibrated, and a digital signal strength indicator is included.

Important application areas for the product are telemetry, sensor networks, remote control, cable replacement, home and building automation. Exhibiting versatility, other applications include automatic meter reading, consumer electronics, barcode scanners, meshnet, alarm and security systems, two-way remote key entry, and industrial monitoring and control.

The movement towards this type of product is driven largely by the desire to remove or avoid the use of cable as an interconnection. It is often possible to save expensive, time consuming work associated with cable installations, and wireless also enables unhindered movement - with all the associated benefits.

Shortlink carries stocks of the SL4300-B1, and product pricing is available on request from the company. Larger volumes can easily be accommodated, and are quoted for on a case-by-case basis.
