The R&S DVSG digital video signal generator from Rohde & Schwarz is a compact solution for the development and quality assurance of TV sets and projectors. The CS-S10w analysis software from Konica Minolta is now preinstalled on the generator. The software supports the Konica Minolta CS200 and CS2000 – the chromameters/spectroradiometers most frequently used by entertainment electronics manufacturers. The data recorded with the CS200 or CS2000 is evaluated directly on the display of the R&S DVSG. Combining these high-end products provides the most precise luminance and chromaticity measurements on the market.
A typical setup for performing quality measurements requires a test signal source such as the R&S DVSG. Since the generator feeds specific uncompressed test patterns to the display via an HDMI interface, it provides signal quality that makes it an ideal reference. The chromaticity measurement itself is performed by means of chromameters/spectroradiometers such as the Konica Minolta CS200 or CS2000. The CS2000 offers utmost precision, as it allows contrast measurements in a ratio of up to 100,000:1 with adjustable measurement angle. The analysis instruments are directly connected to the signal generator via a USB cable. The Konica Minolta meters are controlled using the evaluation software preinstalled on the R&S DVSG. An external PC is not necessary, since all data can be displayed on the generator.

The R&S DVSG functions as a signal source and a control unit that can control automated test sequences in a multi-equipment system. The evaluation applications run directly on the signal generator. The R&S DVSG is now available with the Konica Minolta CS-S10w analysis software for the Konica Minolta CS200 and CS2000 chromameters/spectroradiometers. This solution allows straightforward numeric and visual evaluation of measurements using a single instrument.
