GAO Fiber Optics has released this pen style fiber optical visual fault locator, which is specially designed for field personnel who need an efficient and economical tool for fiber tracing, fiber routing and continuity checking in optical networks. It performs end-to-end visual fiber identification, detects faults in an OTDR dead zone and finds breaks, poor connections and bending or cracking in fiber optic cables.
/> This portable and rugged fiber optical visual fault locator, model5102, features constant output power and supports both CW and pulse operating modes. It operates at a central wavelength of 650nm ±10nm. It is drop and dust resistant and has a laser case ground design which prevents ESD damage. The rugged fault locator is shipped with an FP-LD emitter and a 2.5mm universal connector. If 1.25mm connectors are required, an FC (male)-LC (female) convertor can be provided. It complies with CE standards including EMC, EMI and ROHS. The fault locator is powered by 2 AA alkaline batteries and operates continuously for up to 60h.
