GOEPEL electronics will arrive at the electronica exhibition in Munich next week to present AOI systems with a completely new system software named PILOT 6.The Focus will be comfortable and fast test program generation combined with maximum inspection safety and flexibility for the user.

Compared to previous versions, PILOT 6 has been completely re-developed from the ground up and integrates numerous brand new features by.

One key aspect of the development was the optimization of internal structures to allow smooth and easy operating steps, from data import to adjustment and improvement of test programs. This comfortable operating concept was additionally combined with three-dimensional presentation of components and test programs for realistic visualization of the individual steps.

Different inspection methods (e.g. inspection from different angles for IC pins) and virtual programming for extern test program generation and optimization are already known from previous versions and are also available in PILOT 6. All test functions and library entries are extendable on a modular basis and therefore offer great flexibility.

Highlight of the new version 6 is the integrated SmartGuide – an operating concept for extremely simple test program generation, even for unexperienced users. The handling is comparable and as simple as using a smartphone: clear and easy user guidance in familiar optics via touch screen, from data import to final inspection. Even without prior knowledge, desired test programs can be created at lightning speed. This option can be used for example at production start of a new assembly during night shift.

The new AOI system software PILOT 6 is available for AOI systems AdvancedLine, BasicLine, THT-Line and TurboLine. Together with the sensor module 3D•EyeZ it enables reliable and true 3D measurement of solder joints and components in-line.
