Teseq, the advanced EMC test solutions supplier (formerly Schaffner Test Systems), announce the availability of the latest enhancements to their market leading “Compliance 3” EMC test software. Teseq first launched their innovative test software in 2000 and the package is under continual development. Continuous improvement is driven by the requirements of ever changing standards, customer feedback and Teseq’s quest to ensure Compliance 3 continues as the de-facto standard software for EMC testing. Teseq has maintained a team of software development, applications support and customer support engineers permanently working to improve and enhance the product’s capabilities and ease of use.
Compliance 3 Version 4.00 is now available. In addition to a number of user interface improvements, including USB driver support, two key changes have been made in this new version as part of an ongoing process to improve the user experience.

Feedback from users has indicated that some find the existing system of locking the software to a particular PC inconvenient. Consequently it will now be possible to transfer the licence to a software key (dongle), which will provide a totally portable licence. Plugging the dongle into any PC that has the software installed will fully activate the software.

Important changes have also been made to the IEC 61000-4-3 field uniformity calibration process and the software has changed to support the user in these areas. Calibration must now be performed at 1.8 times the required field strength. Compliance 3 now recognises this and makes the required adjustments to the signal generator levels during testing. The user is required to show that the power amplifier is operating in its linear region at the calibrated level and that the harmonics ‘in the field’ are at least 6dB below the fundamental. Additional processes have been included to allow the user to quickly show that these conditions have been met.

Paul Dixon MD of Teseq comments; “Compliance 3 is an important tool for EMC testing and enables our customers to mix and match our test hardware with that of other manufacturers and by using simple menus create full test routines and reports.”
